They are great the first year you are here, but after that, they are terrible. The manager is a moody witch who would not look me in the eye to talk to me about an issue. Instead, she ate food while staring at her computer and wasn't listening to me.
I have had a dishwasher that hasn't worked since the day I moved in, 2.5 years ago. The apartment above me flooded and there is now mold growing on my ceiling in my bathroom - all they did was paint over it. The mold has now grown through it. The light switch in my bathroom is now sparking whenever I flip it on and they still have not come to check it out.
They are HORRIBLE at math and even though the mistake was on their part with how they filled out paperwork, they waited 6 months to tell me I was short on rent (again, their fault on the paperwork) and demanded the backpay within a week.
They take forever to get anything done, but expect you to be incredibly fast with anything you need to do. I've written the management company and hope to get out of this lease so I can move to a SAFE place to live.

I agree the managers are moody and rude. The caliber of the new residents appears to be slipping too. Looks like they are running a college dormitory in some buildings. Loud parties and kids running around everywhere. Try to complain to the office (---- or ----) and you are told that its just kids being kids. Well I pay rent and dont expect to live across the hall from a apartment (dorm room) of 19 yr olds who have parties all week long. I will be moving out when my lease is up ....This place is very unprofessional!!!!!!!!!

I agree as well! They're sweet as pie to you when you initially decide to rent from them, but become completely the opposite once you've signed on. When I first moved there back in '03, it was really a nice place to live, but it went swiftly downhill after that. They lost my rent check a few times, to boot. Not only that, but upon my moving out they actually had the nerve to try to charge me for damage done to the apartment that was there when I first moved in!!! Heartland Management REALLY needs to be notified about the shoddy office staff. I hope it's just a matter of time before they clean house and bring in a staff that cares and actually does their jobs, because SO many residents are unhappy there.

Weird, I've never had an issue with ----. Now ----, man - I've had nothing but issues with her. I've lived in plenty of apartments and had no problems with staff before. But here I have nothing BUT problems.
