A poor place to live --I was kind of desperate.

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
I lived in a Country Villas townhome during
2001 and 2002 on a 1 year lease.
Though I
thought the townhome was a convenient
and spacious place to live in (2 bed room
on a second level with the living room and
kitchen on the lower level), I thought it
was overall a bad place to live for the
following reasons.
The carpet had not been cleaned properly
and it had a smell to it.
They claimed it
was a new carpet, but it just had a smell.
The parking was awful and cramped.
At times
I could not find adequate parking near
my place and I had a slight disability.
Times I would have to park my car on the
grass in order to be close.
One time I
parked my car crooked in a spot because
the cars flanking mine did not leave
enough room.
The spot was right outside
my door.
I got a ticket for parking
at an angle -a ticket I never paid and
never will pay as I wrote the Lisle
Police and the Village Hall complaint
letters disputing the validity of the
ticket.
Oh this place is not good (or at least
where I was placed) for a person with
a disability.
Parking is very bad down
the stretch where I lived and there was
one way in and one way out --so the
area easily could get blocked.
Sometimes it was hard to find parking
near to the apartment.
Also things got
really bad with other neighbors would
have guests park their cars in the
limited parking spots.
I felt and
wrote the management that I did not think
it was fair for guests to take up the
limited parking spaces, when I actually
live there and never had guests (well
once and not during night hours).
I felt that they should have had reserved
spots for residents at least in that
bad area of limited parking.
So Country Villas was only good for me
as had space with the 2 bedrooms with
all my stuff.
I moved there to make
my travel time to work easier or less.
(I got laid off in the middle my lease).
I also liked it because I could blast
my stereo and make the neighbors leave
their apartments.
:) I think they liked
the variety of music I played though.
It was never the same type of music.
I never had problems with the management
as they knew I would write a letter of
complaint.
They handled pretty much
anything I asked -- I had them wrapped
around my finger at least.
Actually I
did have to write a letter or two to
the management regarding the parking
issues and something else.
Every
time I called them after that, I always
got one of the top managers.
She would
say what is wrong this time -my name withheld- and how can we serve you this
time'
I would not recommend this place unless
you need some space and to be close to
work.
