I've been at Green Trails for 3 years now and I kept renewing because I didn't feel like packing for a move. THIS PLACE SUCKS! It was great at first, like before I signed the lease. The model they showed me was absolutely wonderful, new appliances and fresh new carpet, my unit wasn't available until the day I came to pick up the keys after the lease was signed, again This place SUCKS. The model is NOT a good gauge of what the actual apt looks like, my appliances are from the mork and mindy years of the early eighties and stuff is always breaking like these raggedy toilets that run all night and make the bills go up. Oh yeah not to mention the bogus tub that freaking creaks while you are showering, its not even ceramic, its a damn metal tub and I get scared Im going to fall through the floor into a neighbors home. Although the apartment itself is bad, the neighbors are WORSE, I'm glad Sharon is gone and I dont know why the hell she decided to make this community EOH and Section 8, why the hell would I want to pay full price, when everyone else is living here at clearance prices' Hell, I want a deal too. If you are thinking about moving here don't do it unless you have a government voucher or bad credit, no job, and a few babies daddies or momma's. Good Night!

I am shaocked at how bad the reviews are for this apartment. I lived here with my wife in one of the town home style two story apartments in 2005-2006 and really had no problems, they fixed stuff as soon as i called them and really had no complaints, and no i am not part of management. I used to work for Villa St Benedict and driving .5 miles to work was a blessing, rent wasn't too bad at that time either.

completely agree with the first poster. initially they had a decent leasing guy and maintenance men but they disappeared over time. quality of renters has gone way down over the years. car was broken into once and stereo was stolen. beware the dog buildings (i think that's every building now these days), dog crap everywhere, yellow or no grass, always-flooded sidewalks, paying extra to share a garage with lovely neighbors who lie about breaking your things, paper thin walls, old appliances... about the only good thing is the in unit washer and dryer. started seeing cops in the parking lot frequently towards the end of my lease in 07. also the cheezy pond in the front flooded once and had to drive through water that nearly came in my car doors for a couple trips in and out as that road is only one entrance/exit. it beats other hellhole apartments I've seen in Lisle, namely Lakeside, but still beware. if you're a jerk with a constantly yapping dog though, you'll love green trails.

I agree, this place has seriously gone down hill...and I thought it was just my tub that creaked like that!!

While I wouldn't disagree on a lowered quality of tenants, I think it's unfair to assume that your neighbors are Section 8 or EOH. To the best of my knowledge, there is NO section 8 in DuPage county due to actual village/county codes(but I could be wrong about that). Also, if you make the choice to live in an apartment complex, especially a large one - you should expect that you are going to hear yapping dogs or neighbors through the walls. That is going to be true for any rental community. There are PLENTY of complexes in the same area that do not allow dogs at all, and it was your choice not to move into one of those. As a dog owner, I had a much harder time finding a nice complex that allowed dogs. All of that being said, it's an decent place to live and I had a pretty satisfactory experience. Luckily, I've lived in a small, efficient aparment long enough to allow me to save money to buy my own home so I will not be renewing my lease this year.
