I've been living at Lakside for about a year and a half. I read through the good reviews and many of the bad ones and agree a bit with both. I have never had a problem with loud neighbors, although occasionally some teenagers will hang out in the firelane at night, but they're just being kids. I've never seen a drugdealer here yet, and the hallways are lit up just fine in our building. Our place had a brand new coat of paint and brand new carpeting when we moved in, so can't complain there either. It's a decent place for the amount of money we pay.

Now, maintenance is a different story. Although the maintenance guys are nice people, and who knows if they've even gotten the calls from the office half the time, it takes forever to get anything fixed and most of the time it's only temporarily fixed. Last summer we just about died without our AC for 2 weeks. And there is just a lot wrong with our apartment in general. Our garbage disposal has burnt out at least 2 times. Our living room blinds are broken for the second time. Some of the outlets don't work. The toilets run. The closet doors fall off the track or get stuck. And the list goes on...

Having said all that, it's really not that bad of a place to live as far as safety, location, and rent. If you're concerned about every little thing being perfect in your place, I don't recommend living here. If not, go for it.
