I lived at Lakeside for 3 years and liked it for the first year or so...the last year the complex has gone downhill...there was never a place to park near my building...I felt very unsafe in the complex after dark...neighbors were clearly breaking the lease rules (ie 5 to 6 people living in an apt that did not sign leases, not registering dogs etc etc)and the office staff didnt care...there is now constant construction and machinery being moved around the complex...
The straw that broke the camels back tho was when I went to renew my lease...I never paid rent late, I rarely complained...I was a good tenant and neighbor...I was told leases would not be renewed...you would be forced to move to a new apt due to renovations and pay all the credit checks and deposits again in addition to the moving fees and transfers of utilities...Also my rent would increase about 300 dollars...I had a 3 bedroom apt and was told there would be 2 other available I could pick from...when I went back a week later I was told there were no apts available comparable to mine...the leasing staff actually suggested to me that I find a relative to live with for a month and move back in after my apt was renovated...I found a new apt because I had no choice and informed the leasing office...did all the proper paperwork because I was leaving one month early...they told me no problem youll just lose your deposits...I was okay with that...I went by to visit a friend in the complex about a week after I moved and my apt was thrown apart and being renovated...Lakeside has now turned me over to collections for this months rent...when I signed agreements with them and theyre renovating the apt anyway...Lakeside is aweful to do business with and dont take good care of their residents...
Please think twice if you want to rent there...Id highly recommend any amli property over an amco property any day

Everything this person is describing was told to every resident of the complex. You can end your lease early with 60 Days of Market rent paid. Which she obviously did not do. What did she think, after she moved out early they were gonna let the apartment sit there vacant for a month and not start renovating it. She thinks cause she paid a months rent FEE that it is still here apartment.
Lakeside takes great care of their residents.

Lakeside does NOT take great care of their residents. They bully them into signing leases. It's absolutely insane to suggest that someone move in with a relative for a month in order to get an apartment when you're telling them they have to pay a whole slew of fews for an upgrade that should have been done years ago. Lakeside is just trying to cash in on the fact that people have lost their houses in this market and need to rent. It's wrong.
