Well I must say I usually do not write in on sites like these but I felt compelled when I seen all the negative and condescending remarks.
I have been w/ this property for about 2 yrs, I was with them right before they started the renovations. I must say from what it was to what it is today is night and day.
I was fortunate to be one of the 1st people to move in to their newly upgraded apartments. Now, I will say during the process of the renovation there were a ton of "inconveniences" and headaches. Especially when they were putting in the new stairs and windows, but I can't complain because I knew it was going to happen before I rented. Now that the renovation seems to be done I must say it has been a rather enjoyable stay.
I just decided to start looking into other apartments because my renewal was coming up and I know from my last one that they typically raise them 40 or 50 a year. So I shopped around, but finally decided to stay where i'm at.
This was my conclusion:
anything in a 20 mile radius either was old and very affordable (unlike my current apartment that is all new and a little more expensive)The 1 complex that I seen that was comparable, had all the right atheistic items but the staff seemed like they had better thing to do that show me the complex. I even went back a second time to see if they were just having an "off" day but, nope same thing.... I had went to about 15 different placed and none gave me the right feelings or was $100 more in rent and had similar if not exact same things that I already had.
Honestly, I would like to have laundry in my apartment and I would like to have a garage or some type of covered parking but for the price and what you get it is the best bargain around. You won t find something as nice and new for the pricing. Not to mention when I received my new rental rate THEY DIDN'T RAISE MY RENT. (I will say it is probably due to the economy but hey that sealed the deal for me)
Don t listen to the negatives posted most are probably just frustrated from something that happen to them in particularly and need to vent somewhere...If this place was so bad there would be 1000's of bad comments. It s a big complex so I am sure there are a few people who have some horror stories.

This person must have money to burn because it's not good deal at all. For the cost of a a couple months rent and the deposit you can buy a condo in the area that is much nicer and quieter. That's what I did. I know for a fact that there are many nicer apartments than this in the area (just look at the ones who get better reviews than Lakeside) and you will see for yourself. I used to live at Briarbrook Village for 10 years before Lakeside and I can tell you Briarbrook is much more peaceful and quiet than Lakeside. The only reason I moved was to get a slightly bigger apartment and that was a huge mistake Briarbrook has also upgraded their apartments which include washer and dryer too! I mean really and the rent is the same or less than Lakeside which doesn't have adequate laundry facilities at all. Also you won't end up paying outrageous service fees and charges every month as well as insane amounts for heating and air conditioning as you will at Lakeside. Sure Lakeside has a fitness center but it's really small and not worth the outrageous rents they charge. Now I'm not saying Briarbrook is the best place either but that is one place that I know is much better than Lakeside!

I love coming home from work and having to park 1/2 mile away because there is no parking. I love taking my laundry down 3 flights of stairs to wash it only to find that both machines are out of service. I love paying $1250 a month for a 2 bedroom and to find out my college neighbors below are paying $950. I really loved the look on the office staff when I told them I was not renewing because they could not lower my rent.
