I moved into Lakeside Apts. March 09 and it has been a nightmare from day one.
PARKING: When I first looked at my apartment on a Saturday mid-day. I was concerned and questioned parking and was told that parking wasn't assigned but I would have no problem and there was always amble space available. Truth be known, if you are not home by 5PM be prepared to walk anywhere from 1 to 3 blocks to your apartment once you find a parking space. Also you might want to invest in one of those two-wheel grocery carts.
Then you have the cars that never move. Lakeside s management notes in their lease agreement they monitor the property for this problem and will tow cars in violation. But daily I walk by cars sitting in spaces with flat tires that haven't been moved in the 3 months I've been there. Though I did witness one car marked for towing but in that case it was located directly across from the rental office and you wouldn t want perspective renters from possibility seeing that.
NOISE: The walls in this place are paper thin and I haven't had a full night sleep since moving in due to my neighbor's late hour activities. It's not the case of any of them being excessively loud. Their carrying on normal conversations or watching TV and you actually hear every word being said as though you're in the same room with you.
Then there are the beautiful Canadian geese. Sounds wonderful right' Well here's the problem if you live in a lakeside unit. These lovely birds start hooking in a major way around 4AM and don't stop until after 11PM. Best of luck sleeping!!!
MAINTENANCE: What maintenance' Since moving in I have placed 4 different calls in to maintenance requesting a repair to a patio door problem and have yet to hear back from anyone.
I can t wait to get out of this place. I have already given my notice of not renewing my lease and seriously contemplating giving notice now and paying the $2,000 penalty to break my lease early.

I love the thin walls that allow me to hear my neighbor's television and sex lives, and I get to enjoy the cigarette smell from the people below me even with the windows closed.
Parking, well, there is none after 6pm. And don't even get me started about laundry here...
The best surprise is winter when you will see $300 gas bills. I had this all winter, even with my thermostat set at 62.
