When we decided to move to Four Lakes, we were offered a specific apartment. We asked a certain leasing agent to put it on hold while we filled out applications. After submitting the applications, we learned that no hold was ever put on the unit. Strike 1. We were also given a 3 month lease even though we wanted to sign a year lease. We were told that that was standard practice with employees of the property management company, which I am. Shortly after we moved in, a neighbor told us about the condo conversion which was supposed to happen about 2 months after we moved in. WE WERE NEVER TOLD WE WOULD HAVE TO MOVE OUT 2 MONTHS AFTER WE MOVED IN!!!!! I later was told by the property manager that our building was supposed to be converted, but they were holding off because there were to many people that they would have to displace and had no where to put them. The leasing staff lied right to our faces about the reason for the 3 month lease!
Nevertheless, I enjoy living at Four Lakes. I love the resort like feel! It is a beautiful property. We were very impressed with how clean the apartment was when we moved in. The buildings show their age, though. The elevators are now being fixed,(probably for when the building is converted) but they were constantly breaking down. The heater is very loud, and the installation is poor.
We will probably buy our unit when it is converted because we love the location and the ammenities of the property. I would warn anyone that rents that you could be told to move out at any time! THe leasing staff will lie to you.
