I am so surprised no one made mention of the poor woman that was raped on the 4 Lakes "pretty" grounds!! It happend on a Monday morning at about 8:30AM (check the paper if you don't believe me December 2003). How's that for safe'

Have a motorcycle' Not for long! Pay careful attention to the disclaimers they have hanging on the wall as you drive into the "secure" parking garage. Again, check the local paper. Motorcycles have been regularly stolen from the garage. Cars (including mine) have been broken into. I know of several occasions during my one year prison lease of such criminal activity. If they don't want whatever is inside, they will take the rims instead like I witnessed there as well.

4 Lakes installed "safety mechanisms" on each of the apartment doors. These metal plates help prevent the neighboring building tenants from breaking into apartments. A case where musical instruments were stolen from one tower, from people in the other! (Had an occurrence of someone trying to break into my apartment late one night as well but they got scared away).

Like privacy' Not there. The hallways are an extension to the dorm-like building. The people there gather late at night/early morning. They are loud and smoke and make lots of other noise. The smoke comes through into the apartments and infects your own air with their stench. Many, many occasions I have had people attempt to gain access to my apartment, some of which were 4 Lakes staff, 4 Lakes sales people (those who cannot differentiate between apartment numbers and floors), and other complete strangers. One time I had a police officer knocking on the door looking for a tenant in the other building with the same apartment number. They were looking to take them into custody. Yep, good quality people here.

One man drove his friend and himself into the creek that runs along the property that separates 4 Lakes from the golf course after having one to many to drink and wanted to kill him over some argument. A wrecker had to be called in to remove the vehicle from the water.

If you like fire alarms, this is the place! The average is about 1 per month. These alarms are usually blaring in the very early morning hours such as 1-3AM. (Many occurring weekends, but sometimes weekdays as well).

The office staff is terrible. Some of the worst people I have had to interact with. Once they've got you signed there, you aren't important anymore and they have no future need to treat you respectfully. They are rude, short, and unhelpful. Bringing any matters or concerns to their attention is futile. Even escalading any concerns to higher levels of management (even those levels of management not located in Lisle) falls on deaf ears.

Hallways are filthy, the floor is stained, the elevators are broken and sometimes I would be in them when they would malfunction. Sometimes I would wonder if I could even get out. The mail room looks like a mess all the time. The front door is usually left open or the entrance is trashed with garbage on the floor. Often, at night the ?secure garage? is left open near the garbage/maintenance doors.

Oh yea, and the doors slam extreamly loud!! And they hiked the price after the lease was up for renewing.
