A Tale of Two Complexes

Here's the deal - you are likely going to have vastly different reviews based on whether the resident was renting a condo, or renting an apartment in one of the two towers.
I was a renter in one of the two towers. And yes, it's most definitely college city there. There were a TON of residents who ranged in age from 19-22. And yes, they behaved in a manner typical to college students, so instead of living in a resident community, it felt like living in a dorm. Empty or broken beer bottles littering the common areas on a regular basis, graffiti in the elevators, drunken yelling fights in the hallways at 3AM. In one instance, someone (obviously drunk and careless) ripped a hallway mirror out of the drywall. Yeah, BIG FUN!!!! On another occasion, plants were torn out of the ground outside and hurled at the door. And there was more than one instance of some moron lighting fireworks and throwing them off of their balcony. No, not everyone who lives in the apartment towers is like this. I'm sure that there are plenty of responsible people there. But the antics of the immature idiots sure overshadow anybody who is decent. The office management is to fault here, because they were the ones to LEASE an apartment to these college kids. Plus, I know for a fact that there were at least two one-bedroom units being used by four kids each, in effect turning each apartment into a quad and further reinforcing the feeling of living in a dorm.
To be fair, the amenities and the apartment itself was quite nice, though maybe a tad pricey. Finding a parking spot was never an issue, and it was nice to have a bar within walking distance. I never used the ski hill or watersport equipment, but other residents seem to find those activities quite enjoyable. The maintenance personnel is very good, and always fixed any problems efficiently and effectively. The laundry room gets very crowded during peak times.
So, if you are between the ages of 18-24 and not yet ready to face the responsiblities of the "real world", then the towers at Four Lakes would be a godsend for you. Especially if your parents are paying your rent.
