My boyfriend and I moved in, in may of 2007. We were suppose to get a 2 bedroom townhome but it ended up not being ready when we were going to move in. So they gave us a 3 bedroom for the same price of the 2 bedroom for the term we signed the lease for [1 year]. I thought that was great. When I've had a problem with the apartment [which hasn't been much] They've responded within 24 hours. Usually within the same hour that i've called. We used to have a problem with someones dog constantly doing the deed on our lawn but that's not the complexes fault. We told them and they did send out letters. We have some college guys that live by us that our constantly loud. I've complained but nothing has been done. But they are college kids. That could happen living in a house as well. Again, not the complexes fault.
My complaints would be the bills. My bills are insane. my gas double in one month. And it wasn't even a winter month. They way they divide up the usage per building is kind of --------. We keep our thermostat at 67 and our gas was still $150 this month. Sometimes we keep it even lower but if a neighbor has theres at 75 we are paying for it.
The other thing is parking. We have the most 3 bedroom townhomes and the SMALLEST parking lot. I used to come home at midnight from work and would have to park across the street almost every night. Guest parking sucks. If you don't have a pass then you can't have guest park there except in the small lot by the office. So if you have a guest that stops by after they close then they can't stay past 11 OR THEY WILL GET TOWED! Had it happen!
Overall its not a bad place to live. I haven't seen any "Ghetto" things. Maybe that is only in the apartment complexes' I don't know but for the most part my neighbors are decent, smile and say hi when you walk by.

I live in one of the buildings and I'm facing the same issue with the gas bills. It sucks that you end up paying for someone else's utilities, regardless of how low you keep your heat, how many people live in your apartment, etc. I mean why should I pay for 4 people to shower, use the bathroom, cook, wash dishes when there's only 1 of me just because we have the same size apartment. Makes no sense....I have no issues paying utilites, but I want to pay for what I'm using...not what me and the people upstairs, downstairs and across the hall are using. Also I just learned that they just got approval from the Village of Lisle to build some townhomes w/garages.....I just IMAGINE how much the rent and utilities will be going up now.

My new place is new, clean, much nicer looking.
And the same exact price! :)
