Just moved in the last week. Will keep updating this review to give people a clear idea on what to expect.
I live on the 3rd floor. Apartment was very clean when I moved in. Everything seems perfect until the day turns hot and we switched on the air conditioning. Before long, there was a never ending humming noise coming from the ceiling caused by the air-conditioning. I feel like I am living on a ship. For the next few days, me and my wife can hardly sleep because the noise is really annoying. I walked along the whole hallway and discovered that the noise outside my apartment is the loudest. I also discovered that the noise is there not JUST because I switch on MY air-conditioner. The noise is there anytime anyone in the building switch on THEIR air-conditioner. So I can't even choose to turn off the air-conditioner to stop the noise. It has been really frustrating so far, hard to sleep, listen to music, watch TV on a normal volume or read anything.
We contacted management on Friday and they said they will send someone on Saturday which never happened. I called the property manager personally on Monday and she was very helpful and nice in promising that something could be done or she WILL CHANGE an apt for us. But she said it was too hot for maintenance to work on anything yet so we're still waiting for something to be done. I hate to go home now because of that noise, just hope that it can be resolved soon.
I will still recommend the apartment for now because the place is great except for the unbearable noise. Office staff has been polite and property manager is quick to promise a response to problems. Not sure how it is for 2nd or 1st floor people though. I hope that the management will really be responsible and take care of our problem. Will update this review as time passes by.
Update: July 20th 2006 (Thur)
So far, property manager has been very helpful and polite. Maintenance guy is on vacation so will only look at the problem on Monday. Manager has already given us the key to another apartment for viewing as well as offered another apartment for us to move in in the event that she cannot get the problem fixed. The assistant manager will even accompany us to view the other apartment because it is still undergoing renovation and an escort is required for safety's sake. So far, we can tell they are trying to solve the problem and our satisfaction is important to them. First class service!

To their credit, International Village (IV) management has been really responsive. Adam showed us 2 apartments over the weekend and has been very sympathetic. Property manager just called and promised to solve the problem by tonight, latest by tomorrow. We??re very excited and hope to have a good night??s rest at last.
Having problems exist in the apartment is ok with us. It is hard to guarantee a perfect apartment for everyone. It is management??s attitude towards our situation and ability to solve our problem that means much more to us. So far, their service has been perfect. We just got to wait if they can really solve this problem. I trust them; their attitude towards us is honest and sincere. Looking forward to tomorrow! =)
