These apartment buildings need to seriously be torn down. We lived there for 10 months out of our 12 month contact, and opted to leave and get another apartment although it meant 2 months paying rent for two different buildings. On our move-in day, we arrived to find the previous tenant still there. He had not yet finished moving out, still had the phone and electricity under his name, and had not turned in any of his keys. The landlord didn?t seem to take any action in order to make our move-in easier. The apartment was not even cleaned before we moved in ... the kitchen and bathrooms were absolutely dity, and there was a condom wrapper on the back of the toilet. All that had been done was that the carpet had been vacuumed. We had to personally clean the entire apartment before we could start moving our things in. Cabinet drawers were broken, and even though we put in requests to have them fixed, they remained the way we first found them until the end of our lease. Two of the upstairs doors had fist holes punched in them, and were never repaired/replaced. One of the upstairs closets had no door, and it was never replaced. The windows had ripped screens on them that were never fixed. The insulation is terrible. During the winter, we couldn?t get the heat above 65 degrees, even after putting up plastic sheeting on all of the windows. The apartments are incredibly noisy, as well. We lived next to a few frat boys who played loud music until 4 or 5 in the morning during the week. Calls to both the police and the landlord went unanswered. One day, our neighbors were buring a pile of books outsite the door, burning a hole in the stairs. We called our landlord, and he did nothing, yet made a comment to us to the fact of "I wish I could find a way to evict your neighbors." Basically, these apartments are run by a slum lord who cares about nothing more than money. Avoid these apartments like the plague. This was my first apartment after living in the dorms for 2 years, and I would have gladly went back to the dorms after living here.
