Ridge Apartments

I lived at River Ridge for 3 years and was very sad when I had to move to Chicago and give up such a terrific home. My apartment was beautiful and spacious - ridiculously huge for such a small price.

The landlord is friendly and professional, as is his maintenence guy. They respond to problems right away (most times they were at my place within 15 min of my call!) and take very good care of the grounds.

My neighbors were wonderful and the folks in the other buildings were very friendly. Be sure to say hello to Jim and his little poodle, Susie!

As far as noise - the apartments are generally very quiet. I only occassionally heard my neighbors, and it was just a few creaks and bumps in the afternoon when Mike would play with his little daughter Sophia and chase her around the coffee table. It was so cute! It sounded like Niagara Falls when someone on my side of the building would flush a toilet, but it never bugged me. I was a bit weirded out when I heard the State Police practicing out on their firing range, but after a couple months, I never noticed. The frogs are so loud at night, but it's soothing. The coyotes are a bit scary when you hear them yipping out in the woods, but it's what you expect when you live out in the woods.

The community is very safe - I hardly ever locked my door. I even had neighbors who would fold my laundry for me if I left it in the drier too long. How funny is that!?

Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, quiet place to live. If you're a party animal, go somewhere else please - don't ruin the serenity for the nice people who live there. These apartments are great for families and quiet, respectful people.

I really miss my old place. If you choose to live there, take good care of my old home.
