Huge Mistake if you move in here! Please Read my entire story prior making a decision to move here

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009

I read some of the earlier posts and decided to move in here. I was shown a model display of 1 and 2 BDR Apts. Upon my further interest to rent an apartments (as some good reviews were in back of my mind) The office staff told me that the only apartments that were available were the ones facing Busse Road. In summer of year 2006 is when I moved into one of the bldgs facing Busse Road. Upon my moving into the apartments all my excitement died out the same day and I was sadden and deeply shocked to learn that, per the leasing office staff statement the 6 years old Carpets (where dogs and Cats are allowed) was not replaced and cleaned.
My Rent was $850 plus extra $85 as tax. Further as my move in proceeded I started to open up blinds to look outside the window. Where I got another shock. The Bedroom window was broken and if attempted to open could fall off. The next day of my move in I began to call the leasing office and spoke directly with the manager (there are ------- and ---- fromer manager) . After giving me months of fake promises I was very bluntly told NO! The cracked and windows will not be replaced. The manager said on several occassions that there were a total of 9 apartments she needed to fix but does not have a window supplier and hence the window will never be fixed!!!!
Then came the winter of 2006. It was soo cold insisde . Always 50 degrees. Because of draft coming from the padio door and broken windows. I would keep up the heat to 90 degrees such that the temp in the apartment would be 65 degrees. I called many times to the leasing office to get the heat fixed . But every single time it was a horrible failure. The Maintanence man can't figure out how to fix the heat so he came with a scotch tape annd permenantely taped up all the edges of the broken window and padio door. That brutal winter went by in this struggle. Its 2009 now and I still have problem with my heat and drafts coming from padio door and broken window. And by the way the padio and the window are permanently sealed to never be opened again
Other problems that everyone will experience if they move in Forest Cove apartments.
1) No Salt or sonw removal id done during winter
2) The front apartment door - Main door and also the sub floor apartment door closes very loudly. To imagine how loud it can be is a wall hanging can fall off when the floor exit door closes.
3) Busse Road is not a normal quite neighbourhood road but rather it is the one that connects to I-90 interstate. It is extremely noisy with added noise of hawnking of the Cars and Trucks.
4) Randomly Cars have broken into for stealing.
5) There is also for some reason which I do not know why but cops are here a lot. Some times its like 5 to 6 cars with their signals turned on and it very scary to see all this and still pay $850 per month for 1 BDR apartment.
Please look for a place somewhere else where your money is fully worth your spending it.

I??????m not sure what that crazy person is talking about. I have lived here for about 7 months and I love it!! My apartment is perfect I love all my closet space and now that the weather I warmer I can use my balcony for BBQs! I never had a problem with the maintance staff they are great! I had a problem with my dishwasher Monday and by that Tuesday morning it was fixed. I never had to wait more then two days for them to fix something in my apartment.
During winter I thought they did a great job with snow removal. The porches were always salted and parking lots always clear. A few months ago I went to a neighborhood watch meeting and they told me about the police are monitoring the property every day and night. This makes me fee safe. If that negative person acutely attended the meeting she would have known all about it in stead of complaining. I love it here so much my friend is moving here in April and I am getting a great referral fee if $250 and believe me I need that need that to go summer clothes shopping.

I agree with denise lawrence post. My heat bill this month was $100 and I believe it is a draft problem. Apartments are very poorly maintained. I have been living here for 1 and 1/2.
Also , I had attended the Neighborhood Police Watch Meeting. If you want to know the facts they detailed why crime is so high in Forest Cove with apartments and cars robbery and drug dealing and how they have heighten security to reduce this Crime. So question is did the Crime in Forest Cove reduce or Criminals got smarter? Also, everyone US has right to speak their opinion. Calling some one crazy sounds to me as this Anonymous post has mental problem to deal with. Also the person agrees that being in business and getting $250 referral is highly needed because of low? financial conditions and may be ethics issue

Maybe you should of made it known with the window issue before you moved in. FYI there will never be an apartment complex to meet 100% of you needs. You are the one who signed the lease and you knew what you were getting yourself into.

I agree with this post. I lived at Forest Cove for 18 months. I have since moved out. The windows leak so much cold air even if they are whole. All repairs made to the apartment were made by yours truly! Their professional carpet cleaning is a joke. There is dog ---- everywhere, junk cars sitting everywhere. 4 dumpsters per trash area, all are empty and trash spills into the parking lot and blows about the property (because people are too lazy to open the dumpster.) The intercom system has never worked, the cable, phones and internet works speratically because the cables are run outside, above ground and have been chewed by animals. There are raccoons, squirels and god knows what else running in the ceilings at night. The bathroom vent spills smoke and the smell of grease from other peoples' apartments. The tar actually runs down the walls when you shower, we did not smoke. They do not scoop the snow, instead in certain areas they put down so much salt you cannot walk animals in the area, and you track white foot prints into the building, yet the snow and ice remains. We called the Village Fire Marshal because the emergency lights and fire system are defective. They visited 2 times and they issue was never resolved, the emergency lights actually hang from the walls in some hallways. There is water leakage into the stairwells coming from who knows where. The police are ALWAYS there, in multiples, usually at dinner time. I moved in and was so disgusted by the property from the start, they raise rent every year and make no improvements. This place is the biggest whole in the Village. It is right across from Famous Freddy's and the parking lot is used as overflow parking and attracts a lot of unwanted activity.
I also looked at The Mansions, anything north of Algonquin is going to get better the farther north you go. The fact is a lot of the complexes in the are are old. Make sure you walk through and visit more than one unit. Be nosey, poke around, drive through at various times of day and call the police department-speak with them about the area and activity.

Explain what is the meaning of meeting 100% of my "NEEDS". In my post above
I want others to stay away from Forest Cove Apts because Manager ---- and Beneta have themselves revealed the true facts that Forest Cove has 9 and more apartments with Broken Windows.
As you guys know how severe the winter here gets a broken window, (i.e. broken from corners and broken from its opening side) will truly costs the residents a huge deal. Like I said in my earlier post a Model was displayed to me prior signing my lease that cannot be taken back when it is signed once. And secondly the severity of how badly a broken window is can be felt with changing weather i.e. summer progressing to winter.
What Forest Cove management should have done instead of cheating with their residents is that after getting a newly signed lease they should have fixed major issues like the broken, damaged and immovable window which can tip over and fall off anytime now.
If you are the leasing agent responding to my post then you should be aware about the legal issues related with Forest cove that will occur when this situation happens.
Also, I have been renting apartments almost all my life. And I am thankful to God for blessing me with apartments cheaper in Rent of $850 per month than Forest Cove but in "Good Conditions" i.e. good patio door locks and sliding windows. I think these are basics that any apartment complex should have to maintain at least min standards. But sadly enough Forest Cove apartments managers ---- (former) and Beneta can yell and say no windows of all 9 apartments in Forest cove will be repaired because "We can't find a Supplier"

I will have to agree and disagree with some points in the previous post. I have lived here for almost 4 years and to say the least I am not renewing my lease. I will say Forest Cove was a beautiful place to live about 2 years ago. I had no complaints everything worked and what did not got fixed within a reasonable time period. However recently I have noticed and increase in police activity. I have the loudest most obnoxious neighbors in the WORLD!! They yell, curse, fight and seem to have the police in their apartment every other day!! Typically the people in my building are quiet working class people but this type seem to be moving out in staggering numbers to be replaced with loud, ridiculous, alcoholics (I'll refrain from calling them drug addicts as I have no solid proof besides my own inclination that this is the case). I have for the most part been pleased with my experience at Forest Cove up until this last year. Ofcourse the management staff can't know for sure what type of people they are renting to but I can not tolerate paying almost a thousand dollars a month to live around this. ---- was the ofc manager when I first moved in and she did her job and so does Beneta so in that regard I have no complaints. I have never had a maintenance request go unfulfilled nor have I had any problems with the office staff. My only problem is this new class of folk moving in which I can not tolerate nor will I try. Forest Cove has provided me with a wonderful home for the past 3 years and I won't take that from them but there are just some things I can't do. Listening to people argue, constant partying, traffic in and out at all times of the night, police in the fire lane every day , people yelling obscenities at their husband is what I am talking about. This has brought me to the realization that it is time to move! But Forest Cove is still a good place to live inmy opinion minuse some of the obnoxious loser tenants ofcourse. But there still are a lot of great people that live in the apartments but in my eye a couple of bad apples has ruined the bunch for me.
