Okay...so this place looked nice at first. Lots of space for $1200 (the townhomes on redwood, east side of the street).

The first problems were the assigned parking space. It took almost a month of confronting neighbors to let them know that we had moved in. Aparently anyone who moves out their space is basically shared. Managment basically refused to get involved there.

The second problem is the neighborhood teenagers. A nearby neighbor (a woman with 6 sixs), who worked for the TSA let her kids run around in the snow in shorts and just a t-shirt. They were up all hours of the night constantly throwing rocks at automobiles in the parking lot and bouncing basketballs off cars. They had a un-leashed/un-collared dog, and mgmt or the police would not do anything.

Thirdly the area does suck. United Airlines headquarters looms over as the ugliest hq ever. The nearby apartments are pretty shady. The row of low-incoming apartments on Cottonwood are dreadful. Police are there daily, and the children that live there (And Alpine) urinate on the nearby playground slides. So if you have kids, you are out of luck. The apartments to the west constantly have the fire department over once a week because of some cooking fires. Not to mention people there are honking their horns at 2-3am every weekend morning. The apartments to the east (luckily they're seperated by a fence & lots of trees), are just as bad as the ones to the west.

The parking area is *not* lit at all. The only light you get is from apartment windows or the one parking lot light in the apartment complex to the east. Teenagers are constantly running around so you have to be *very* careful when driving around.

The police are unresponsive. I've called them a number of times, and basically they just roll up "you kids throwing rocks' no' ok, bye". They do nothing. Once I looked out the window (after hearing one of the many commotions that occur out there) and I saw 4 officers with their guns drawn at 2 people in the parking lot. Several times we were in the line of fire there, not fun. The police just don't really seem to care.

Managment sucks hardcore. First they accused us of having a dog (we're allergic). Then we called them to fix the leaking dishwasher. They came out, saw it, and said they'd return. They have yet to return. The window is always leaking out the heat, and once again, maintenance come by and said they'd return (which they didnt). They charged us for having a missing screen on a window (which was never there in the first place), and we had to pay $40 for a cheap screen. They never yet replaced the screen. On move in, our keys did not work at all. There is a bad ant & spider problem, though orkin comes once a month to spray. In the basement we found numerous rat traps.

The walls are paper thin, too. The city also made Redwood drive a one-way street, making access to the townhomes difficult. The parking area is a one-way street, yet idiots still drive the wrong way and there is very little room to navigate.

*IF* you want a lot of space, go for it. If you have a family, and you are desperate, it's okay. But just take a tour on a weekend and see how the neighborhood is.
