It was 2 years ago that our Mansions of Mount Shire apartment building began to get crowded. We noticed noises in the ceiling of the building once the weather started getting colder. We would hear them running along the ceiling hallways as we would enter or leave our building.
Management had the gumption to tell us they believed people that lived in the building held the doors open and let the squirrels in! No, we couldn't believe it either. They refused to do anything for months, then finally hired a "trapper" after we had complained numerous times. The trapper did nothing but clean the dead squirrels out of the ceilings. He then tried to cover all the building openings to the exterior, which is a Mount Prospect code violation. When checking with the City of Mount Prospect, we gathered plenty of other information filed against the Mansions of Mount Shire.
Management put glue traps in the ceilings to catch the squirrels, which is also a violation. All this did was rip the fur and skin off the squirrels that got stuck and left them in the ceilings to rot and stink up the place. And yes, dead, rotting squirrel carcass smells worse than the normal Curry aroma of the Mansions.
It got so bad, the SQUIRRELS FINALLY CHEWED A HOLE THROUGH THE CEILING OF OUR APARTMENT. And the best part, Mansions of Mount Shire is trying to get money out of us for breaking our lease.
We are in the process of taking the Mansions through the court and collection processes. Their original lawyers never responded to our correspondence, which tells us even their own lawyers don't believe they have a leg to stand on.
