I was looking for apartments online and reading reviews about every complex in the area. It seems that no place is perfect and the only people who are going to spend the time writing the most reviews are the ones who have had really bad experiences. I must say, and I really hope this helps you, you HAVE to stay open minded with apartment hunting and don't let one bad review keep you from checking the place out. AMLI is truly a GREAT complex. People have been very friendly here and the staff is very helpful. I haven't had one problem in the few months I've been here. I don't expect to be problem free within the next year, but as I said, no place is perfect. The layouts of each apartment are very nice and up to date. Each apartment has its own washer and dryer and dishwasher, which have been working great! The clubhouse is very pretty and your residence here gets you free admission to their gymnasium, fitness center, swimming pool and business center. Not to mention there is free wireless internet. There is PLENTY of parking and I've noticed all my neighbors really like to take care of their cars, so no one is ever parking "on top of eachother". The complex IS pet friendly and they dont have an additional monthly fee, just a single pet fee and deposit when you move your little guy in. I've been EXTREMELY pleased with AMLI and would DEFINATELY recommend it to anyone in search of a great, friendly and clean apartment.

I'd bet money that this review was written by an employee of, or the manager of this complex. Amli is WELL KNOWN around the Chicago area for having HORRENDOUS customer service (I know that first hand), and nickel and diming their tenants on rent. The statement "The complex IS pet friendly and they dont have an additional monthly fee, just a single pet fee and deposit when you move your little guy in." is a clear indication that this is not a legitimate review. Who would go to the extent of writing something like "move your little guy in" when referring to a pet? Not an owner of a pet. But on that note...realize that all tenants of Amli that have paid a pet deposit will ABSOLUTELY NOT receive their deposit back upon leaving. I don't care if you were to go to the extent of replacing carpet, and re-painting walls prior to moving out, they WILL NOT return the deposit, and will probably bill you for whatever they think they can screw you for. Horrible company, and I WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER recommend any AMLI complex to anyone looking for an apartment.

I would LOVE to take your bet because I've been a tenant at AMLI and have no affiliation with being employed in any way with AMLI complex. I do refer to my pets as "my little guy" because if you ARE a pet owner or pet lover...pets are just as important when moving somewhere because they ARE part of the family. Honestly, I've made all my deposits and I make my rent payments on time. It won't upset me if I don't get my deposits back, I mean, that's part of the risk when renting at any complex. I've received GREAT services and have had EXCELLENT experiences with the staff. I don't feel that CONSTANTLY ridiculing an apartment complex because of a misfortune or bad experience and expecting everyone to go by what is "WELL KNOWN around Chicago area" is fair. Everyone has their own experience and they take their experiences differently. As I mentioned before, there is NO perfect complex. I still stand by my comments about AMLI. It is a wonderful place and is a GREAT location and I still recommend it for anyone.

In response to this review - you will not be so pleased when you move out and you don't get your deposit back AND have to pay an additional fee because your "little guy" made non-existing marks on the carpet. You will also change your tune when they are not so friendly when you move out - they are EXTREMELY rude and demanding. I agree with the above poster - DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Horrible management - Sandy in the office is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. We are the ones paying their salary - trust me I have contacted higher management on this her. Rent a house in this market - it would be cheaper! Also, this fitness center is a joke. The machines never ever worked and it was always filthy dirty. They lock the doors before the 10 o clock closing time. The pool is ALWAYS over crowded with people inviting a million and one friends. Agh...I could go on for hours how much this place stinks!

Sounds like to me the same person keeps posting these comments. Trust me if they charged you for damages you did not cause you would be able to get your money back. Sounds like to me you damaged the apartment and are mad because they called you on it. You should not blame other people for your mistakes. What goes around comes around.
