Two years ago, AIMCO hired a so-called contractor for roof repairs. Ended up putting on only half a roof over our apartment, left the other half wide open during a big rainstorm.
Right now, middle of a heat wave, twelve days with no ac. They send a "certified technician" over every day in response to our phone calls, and each time the person left without doing repairs. They finally broke down and called a contractor, who bailed without doing the work. They are currently putting us up in a hotel and we cannot return home because the place is not habitable. Hubby tried the Mr. Nice Guy routine with them to no avail. I have been having to fight tooth and nail to get one damn thing from them.
Anybody dumb enough to rent from AIMCO is only getting what they deserve.

I've lived here since Sept. 2008, and we had the same bad roofers come for our apartment - but we just asked the head maintenance guy what was going on, and they said the guys that were doing the roofing were sketchy, so they watched them one day and found that they were removing the rotting wood (like they were supposed to) and then minutes later, were re-nailing the rotting wood in place. So they didn't put new wood on anything. They were stopped, and the space of wait was while they found a real roofing team. The old roofers put in a bad skylight in our apartment after breaking the old one, and there is sap everywhere the next day - but the maintenance team came and sealed and painted, and apologized, and had the carpet cleaning people over for the few spots of sap. I find the maintenance staff to be extremely courteous, and the people in the main office - mostly Shannon - really get the job done. Every time I call, if you talk to Shannon, the job gets DONE asap. I think that if they are putting you in a hotel, it shows at least they are trying to make you comfortable while they're trying their best. My husband and I both have the skills to be a nasty go-getter when we want something done, but we have NEVER had to do that with Autumn Run. It's the best Aimco property we have ever been with.
