I was really sad when we had to move out of this apartment as it was absolutely wonderful! We had a beautiful lake view, vaulted ceilings, fire place, modern kitchen and bathrooms, and a garage. The fitness center was nice and I especially loved the jacuzzi with the natural looking waterfall cascading into it.

The staff was so friendly (at first). The only problem we ever had was with the neighbors with dogs letting their dogs poop on the walkway right outside the building. With so many tenants with dogs though, it's understandably difficult to find out which one is responsible.

Right after we moved in our washing machine broke and instead of fixing it they gave us a brand new one. We had to wait a few days for it to come in though.

I thought the outside of the building could have used a good powerwashing as the spiderwebs were so thick you almost couldn't see through them and I nearly had a heart attack in late summer trying to dodge the huge, black spiders coming down on webs all around the garage as I tried to walk in. I guess that's to be expected when you live on a lake.

The only thing I really didn't like was when my husband was laid off and we had to move before our lease was up, they were very unforgiving and their previously nice attitude changed towards us as soon as they found out we were moving out. We had to spend almost all of my husband's 401K to pay all the fees for breaking our lease which literally totaled in the thousands. No mercy for the unfortunate! Kick 'em when their down! Well, now that the economy is turning around, my husband has his old job back and with a 20% pay increase and we're moving again but I won't go back to Brookdale Lakes because of their attitude towards us at the end and the horrible experience with breaking a lease.

If you plan to move in there, just be sure you don't ever have to break a lease! Of course, the future can't always be predicted because we thought we'd live there for years! Otherwise, I highly recommend this property.
