Brookdale Lakes

This was a very nice property when I moved here a year ago. Unfortunately, there was a change in management around the first of this year, and the place went downhill fast. Since then, getting anyone in the office to handle my maintenance issues - and there were many - was impossible. NO ONE ever answers the phone, or returns messages.
The parking is silly. Cars are allowed to park all over the street, and several times I almost got into an accident because there wasn't enough room for two cars to get by. For the entire year I lived there, there were 3 cars with expired tags, that never moved from spaces just outside my apartment, forcing people to park in the street.
The manager who was there when I leased was bubbly and pleasant, and anytime I went in to drop off a rent check, or chat she was always just as pleasant. Since she left, the office staff has become quite rude.
It is actually funny to watch, I wish there was a hidden camera, if you were a resident, they were rude and ignored you, if you were a potential resident they practically did acrobatics to get to you. I got the strong impression that the office only cared about getting you to live there, once you were there they didn't care at all.
This became worse after I gave my notice that I was leaving. All maintenance problems I had after that were ignored, I am wondering if they were planning to charge me for the things that were not working. And they seemed to turn up the volume on their rudeness. When I dropped off my keys on my last day, they refused to respond to me or even look in my direction. It is so obvious that this place only cares about their bottom line, and not the people who live here.
The place is like a monet, it looks nice from a distance, but when you get up close you notice things like door latches that never work properly, oven doors held together by duct tape, lighting fixtures that blink like strobe lights in a discoteque, paper thin walls and paper thin carpets, and extremely drafty windows and gigantic spiders that used to hang over the common entrances to the apartments.

Are you sure you have the right apartments? Maybe you meant to leave a rating for Brookdale Village. This is nothing like my experience or even that of my neighbors. I've lived her three years and everyone of the tenants in my building have been there much longer. They all love it and don't even want to move. I don't know where you've been living, but it certainly doesn't sound like Brookdale Lakes managed by AIMCO.

Oh, I am sure of where I lived. This place is a dump. The new office staff sucks. Absolutely rude. AIMCO only cares about getting leases, they care nothing about residents. Again, walls are paper thin, door locks never work, lights flicker, windows are extremely drafty, parking is a nightmare!
