Keep looking....

We moved into Brookdale Lakes in August of 2003. Melissa was our leasing agent and we loved the area. We debated between BL's and the Arbors (right at the edge of brookdale)...we went with BL because of the attached garage.
Soon after we moved in, Melissa was relocated and replaced by another woman who just plain incompetent...basically sat around and did nothing the whole time she was there. None of our phone calls were ever returned, pacakges were lost...just poorly run. The additional people who work there are incredibly rude and refuse to help or even answer the phone.
The maintenance people, while friendly, don't always get the job done the first time (we've had toilet issues for months).
In the few years we've lived here we have seen a significant decline in not only the caliber of people who run the office, but also the people they allow to live in the complex.
If you have children, keep looking. If you don't care about the leasing office, and are OK with not having things fixed in a timely manner, it's a decent place to live.
On a brigt note, it's a perfect location. Close to downtown, 59 and 88.
