I would just like to leave this review so that anyone considering to move to Brookdale Apartments can reconsider.
I will start off with something positive, the location is very convenient. It is close to 59 where there are lots of stores and restaurants.
In the three years that we lived there we had numerous problems. Soon after we moved in we realized that the ceiling walls all through out the living room were cracked and buckling (scary). This was never fixed! We had cracked walls do to a water leek from the roof in the second bedroom. This was never fixed!
Most importantly!!!Please Read this next part!!!!
When we first moved in to these apartments the bonus was that the garage was free. When it came time to renew our lease we asked if there were any more or extra charges. The "lady" said there was nothing else, everything was the same. So we signed it. Five minuets later I get a call on my cell phone. "Do you have a garage", she asked. "Yes", I said, "Well you are going to have to pay an extra $50-$75 a month for that. After we already signed the lease and that was NOT on it. So she told us that basically since the actual manager had not signed it yet that the contract we had signed meant nothing. We would have to sign a new one agreeing to the extra money for the garage. This leaving us with no where we could park since our apartment parking slot was given to someone else. It wasn't until we got legal advice they finally backed off.
There are many other things that I could go on to mention. However bottom line, if you move here, don't expect anything to get done. Secondly, make sure you know your rights as a tenant so they don't try to bully you as they did us.
Thanks for taking the time to read my comment and I hope it helps in your search.

I just renewed my lease and have loved it here. Any service request I place is taken care of promptly and management staff have been nice. I had to write a response because I don't understand why you stayed for 3 years if you were so unhappy and nothing ever got done? And, as for the $75 for the garage, when I was looking for apartment a year ago this place was least expensive or similar to other places in area. Also, how were you bullied? If you are a competent adult that can make your own decisions, you choose whether to stay or leave, no one forces you to sign lease. I know that if my issues weren't dealt with to my satisfaction and my place was falling apart and I felt like I was being "bullied" I would never, ever renew or even stay the duration of my lease, let alone 3 years.

I agree, you have a right to refuse to live there. I can see if management does not adhere to correcting repair requests in a timely manner, but I wish that the comments/reviews weren't so personal with regards to blaming management for something you, as the tenant, have control over... making a choice to stay somewhere or move is yours...not theirs. Parts of the reviews like this don't really help potential renters b/c you paint a negative picture of a community when part of it seemed to be your fault.... continuing to live in a place you didn't' like....
