When we moved in years ago Chantecleer Lakes was run by a different management group who were very service conscious and diligent. Since Equity bought out the property many years ago, it's been one problem after another. The management will be overly forceful when it comes to the outwardly appearance of the apartments (what's on the porches, etc.), but when it comes to parties, noise, drinking in the hallways, crazy parking, 2am baudiness in the parking lots, constant sewer flooding due to lack of maintenance, the response is "we'll look into it" and nothing happens, at least not very quickly. Occasionally the problem will be resolved if the Naperville Police are called in. The poor maintenance crew get worked a lot because of the lack of proactive maintenance (some have quit over the years due to stress, which has meant a loss of expertise and familiarity).

The rental management is strictly concerned with making their numbers and not with the resident community, so make sure any needs are *in writing* upfront with some method of enforcement. Make sure at move-in time that all appliances are new. Getting them replaced is often difficult.
