These condos are NOT worth what they are asking. Real estate in Naperville is expensive, but these prices are crazy especially if you have lived here before. The plumbing backed up in my unit...and when the plumber came he was all too familiar with the problem. He said it was a common occurance and that they arent doing anything to fix the problem as a whole. There have been many people from my company that lived in this complex(9 that I know of)...3 of which I work with in the same department and NONE OF THEM would reccomend this place. Two of those three had their plumbing back up too. When I asked if they were going to buy all I got in response was a unanimous laugh. Some of the renovations being done are quality...while others are obviously half-assed. If you buy, expect to be paying for new paint on doors etc...and repairs to the parking lot since they decided to cover up the fact that it needed some attention, oh and lets not forget their way of fixing water damage done to a ceiling due to a leaky roof...PAINT. One more thing...3 trips to fix my screen door and 2 trips to fix a bad bolt on a toilet that kept leaking.

Well I will tell you that I have lived here for about 8 years, and I did decide to buy. You need to think about what you are saying before you say it. There are over 300 homes here. Wow 9 people had there plumbing back up, wow! Do you know that this place is 20 years old. That is 20 years of people flushing stuff down the toilet and putting things down the drains that should not be put down there. Talk to anyone that works at a Public works Department, and they will tell you that they get everything from paper, food, diapers, syringes, toys, and so on. Not to mention that the general rule is that when some one rents something that normally figure it is not theirs and they could care less. As far as the parking lots, they are not done yet to immature twit. They have only been open to the public since february, have you actually gone in to talk to one of those sales agents, they are quite nice, and really know what they are talking about and don't pressure people. And they have still sold over 170 units since they opened. Tell me any other company that can do that. First off, you need to understand that this is a condo conversion, you are going to have to deal with some exixting problems, but they give you a full 1 year warranty on the home and everything in it, so they do give time to work out the issues. You tell me where in Naperville you can buy something for under $250k, with everything mainly new, and with home warranties. NOWHERE! Go to anyohter condo conversion and most are sold as-is. Now these guys do have an as-is option. I have found out that most of the people who have been having problems bought the units as-is. So that is there own dumb fault. As-is is as-is. The company does not push that option, and they do tell you what to expect, but some people go for the discount, well you get what you pay for. I already had my home appraised again and I have already made $12,000, and have only been in my condo for 5 months. Equity is a large company, that backs up their product, they are publicly traded and they don't leave people high and dry. I had a friend who bought a $600,000 brand new home. You would think for that kind of money that they would not have issues, well they did a pre drywall inspection with their own home inspector, and they found major structural problems, and this is a well known high end builder. Besides all that, the city of Naperville is so tough, and really stays on them, so if half of these issues were true, Naperville would shut them down. If you want to live in a great area, actually rated #2 in the U.S. by money magazine, with great appreciation, in a place that mopst people could not normally touch, buy at Chantecleer. Most families dream of living in a city like this, great schools, great people, social activities and so-on, so I applaud Equity making the impossible possible. The people who usually make a big deal about this are the ones who can not afford to buy because they screwed up their credit somehow and want to blame everyone else. Take the time to look into, it is quality, it is a great price. And think about what you say before you say it, I can back everything I say up with facts!!!! I can prove that you can't!!

Whoooa there mr internet tough guy. First, the condo sales people are nice...but the apartment staff, who I believe all the staff complaints were about on this site, are bad. Second, if you are going to troll you really need to do a better job. There are LOTS of CONDOS that have new appliances with warranties for under 250k in Naperville...maybe you should have actually looked around a bit before you decided to buy. Houses/town houses no , condos yes. Plus new appliances are not as big of a deal as your trying to make them...but since they tricked you into buying I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you think appliances can make a sub-par condo into the greatest buy in Naperville. You also state in your own review that "people have made comments about plumbing or work quality," "if it were 100 places with issues that would not be bad," 100 wouldn't be bad? That's crazy. They have bad plumbing, end of story. Stop trying to pin this on ex-renters, it was Chantecleer's responsibility to fix it and they didn't...so now it's going to be a poor condo owner's problem. I'm just trying to help people know what was going on when I lived there. In this response you say they sold 170 units so far...then in a response you wrote less than a month later on 10/2 that number jumps to 200. 30 units in under a month? That must be some sort of a record. If you go by those numbers they should have been sold out within 10 months, but obviously they aren't. Oh, and you got your unit appraised 5 months later and found out that you've made 12k? If thats even the truth it makes you sound like your itching to get out of your unit. Also you say you've been in your unit for 8 years? Your user info seems to indicate you've been there about 10 years. With wild claims like these there is no doubt that you work for Equity. I know you silver surfers tend to get senile and cranky in your old age but please don't take it out on everyone else by calling us names and ripping on us cuz the opinion of the masses is different than yours. Worst troll eva. I'll be generous and give you a 1 out of 10 for the horrible troll job...just cuz I feel sorry for you.
