I think that you are all overlooking some very important things. 1st of all I have been living here for a long time. I will admit when they told us they were converting, I was a little upset, i felt they could of told us sooner, and that they tried to hide it. But then I started asking questions, alot of them! Everyone thought that they waited to tell us, well even though it was the same company that owned it that is converting, it is a different division. So what I did not know is that the other division actually had to buy it, and they can not legally say anything until they close on it. Think about it, say they tell everyone that they are going condo, and the deal falls through, people that moved out or made other plans are not going to be very happy, there are laws that have to be followed, there is an Illinois condominium act that I found that makes sense of alot of things.

Also, people have made comments about plumbing or work quality, well I am ----, I have looked into all of this. There are 304 homes at chantecleer, something like 11 of them had plumbing issues. Now remembver this place is 20 years old, probably 10's of thousands of people have lived here over the years. I talked to my friend that works for the Public Works department for a neighbring town, he said if you could only imagine what goes down the drains at these places, food, paper, waste, syringes, condoms, toys, diapers, everything that should not, does. And this goes on for 20 years, if it were 100 places with issues that would not be bad, no plumbing system in the world is meant to handle that stuff. Human waste only, with biodegradable toilet paper is all that is suppose to go down it. And we all know even sometimes that stuffs things up. And not just the toilet, these things go down the kitcvhen sinks also, plus grease and everything else.
Now some people said they did not fix certain things, or the units had issues, well I also investigated that. The units that had these issues were purchased as-is. Yes that company does have an as-is option, you get a discount for taking the home as-is. Now I felt that they do not really like to sell them as-is, and they surely do not PUSH that option, but it is there for the people that want it. Most people who take it as -is are taking it because they have a different idea of what they want to do to the home, but are still planning on gutting it. The people who had the problems just took the discount and left things alone. Not smart. Plus they give you a full warranty, so if they did not fix these things as some of you say, you can call them back anytime during your 1st year warranty and they will come fix it. Do you really think they want to keep coming back, or fix it once and be done with it. Now sure, the last year they probably were not going to dump a whole bunch of money replacing things for the renters, because they knew they were trying to buy it, and would eventually rip everything out, so they were just patching things, they did it to my place. And I am not saying that I was happy about that, but that is business. There was no safety issues, everything was up to code, ands so-on.Now as far as quality of work, they do an awesome job, my place looks great, they have it down to a science, that is why they only do the packages, so they can master it. Naperville is rated #2 in the U.S. for 1 of the best places to live, raise a family, crime, etc. Now if you can even find anything in naperville for under $250,000, it always says, "HANDY MAN SPECIAL" "NEEDS TLC" PERFECT TEARDOWN" So basically making it impossible to live here for most people. Well I applaud Chantecleer for making it possible for people to live in this town, for under $200,000, with everything new, full warranties, great location and so on. And lets face it, it was a rental, for the most part the general feeling is, when people don't own something they tend not to take care of it very well. Their staff is great, they never pressured me, they answered all my questions and saw me through the whole process. They were not like your typical "USED CAR SALES People" They know their product, the business and they are a large company, not some rinky dink mom and pop that could bail on you at any moment, and leave you with nothing. Not to mention that their assesments are extremely resonable, and they ACTUALLY include things, not just for the grass and snow like most places. People need to realize this is a condo conversion, somethings are going to be existing, but they did all of the big ticket items, you can move in and do nothing. If you want brand new everything, then go try to find it, because most of us could not touch anything in Naperville brandnew. they have brandnew 1bedrooms in Naperville for $400,000. Yeah they are brandnew, maybe in or near downtown, but I do not care how new or how nice, no 1 bedroom is worth $400,000 in the suburbs. So I urge anyone to take the time to really check things out, not listen to rumors, or crabby renters that can't afford to buy and are jealous. And to be honest, there are alot of renters that would normally have a hard time buying or did not think they could buy, and these sales agents here along with their lenders were able to get them in a great new place. All of you out there talking about this property, think before you say something, and find out the facts from the right people. I can back all of this up with facts. There are laws that don't allow alot of this stuff to happen, people just make garbage up for no reason, very, very sad, because it turns people away from a great thing, and then they possibly do go somewhere else will these things may be true, and that stinks!!!
