I could not find any comment you were referring too. The comment directly before and after you have nothing to do with disabilities. I feel the need to enlighten you. Not sure if you will read this, however, you need to be educated. With the passing of the new HIPPA laws in 04/03, a leasing agent does not have the authority or the right to request documents from a disabled person other than a statement from the doctor saying the person is disabled. The statement does not need to state they require a service animal AND service animals are not federally required to be certified. I suggest you contact the ADA directly or perhaps HUD or Delta Society. Should I run across a real estate agency that discriminates against me in any way shape or form, I always report them to the proper authorities. People with disabilities have rights and it is people like you who condon the behavior of individuals who take advantage of a disabled person, requiring them to provide information that is not necessary and more so, not legal. Get informed before HUD or the ADA needs to do it.
