No Problems

I have only lived here for two months but have not seen many of the problems that I have read listed on this website. Almost everything in our apartment was brand new (washer, dryer, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, carpet, paint, etc). We are on the third floor and rarely hear our neighbors. Our back deck is beautiful and even though we face the parking lot, we still love to sit out on it and enjoy the summer night. We viewed a few other apartments in the area and they didn't stack up to the amenities offered at Country Lakes for the price. We had to request maintenance one time in order to have an extra shelf installed and it was done within 1 business day. Parking is not as big of a problem as people make it sound, though you may have to walk a building length or two out of your way. I did come down last weekend to see someone's car window smashed in our parking lot, and that was a bit disturbing. I plan on renting a garage shortly to mitigate this risk. I have not seen much of the "ghetto" people that these reviews seem to be talking about. Everyone in my building seems to be very polite. I can tell you that I do worry a bit about my wife being home without me, but that can happen just about anywhere. Everytime I have talked to someone from Country Lakes on the phone they have been pleasant and helpful. I pay rent online (and on time) so I have not had to deal with anyone from billing. I feel that the fees are reasonable and they are trying to cater to a variety of people by not offering everything as standard. You can live here if you don't have a lot of disposable income, but if you have the money you can afford some additional amenities like the garage, extra storage, etc.

well, you have been here 2 months, just wait till you have to renew your lease. Does $100 more a month sound good.

If you wait until the last minute to pay your rent then they will probably charge you a same day processing fee, maybe you should read a bit more about it. Most banks do that. You should charge it to a credit card a couple of days before and you can avoid the $10 fee.
The way the economy is going, $100 a month more doesn't sound too unreasonable for lease renewal, especially considering what I'm paying now.
Go find out what other apartments charge for extra storage and ask if they have garages for all of their tenants for free.... You might be surprised, at least these things are offered as options, not mandatory.

There is a $20.00 fee if you use your card. Dont blame the economy on rent increases. In fact, if it is bad, and people are living pay check to pay check, why not lower the rent, until this tough time is over???
Why stick it to them, when everything else is going up :O)
