There is only one drawback to living here that is significant enough to make me urge you to look elsewhere. It is the noise through floors/ceilings. You should never consider moving into a first or second floor unit. You will hear every step and word that takes place above you. It is annoying and frustrating even under a neighbor who tries to be quiet, and absolutely unbearable if the person upstairs is loud and crazy. You might think about a third floor unit, but only if you can live comfortably with the knowledge that the people below you are hearing every move you make, every trip to the bathroom, every movement in bed, every object you drop, and every noise you utter. If you are a solitary, silent, and light-footed person sans dogs/children/party guests, then you may wish to consider Country Lakes IF it can save you money.

SO true - we lived at Country Lakes on the first floor for two years and had the same people live above us the whole time, they had a noisy child, but even when they were trying to be quiet it sounded like they were hucking their furniture around their apartment all day. Totally insane. We could hear them talking in normal voices! We could hear the neighbors we shared a wall with like they were in our own apartment. Our bathroom had a leak coming out of the ceiling for a whole year before they finally cut open the ceiling to solve the problem (think - yellow water dripping on you while you sit on the toilet!!!), and when we moved in there were fleas in our apartment to start with, and they weren't taken care of until the fall before we moved out of there. Everyone walking by can see right in your apartment (we lived on the street side) and people walking up to the apartment building oogle you big time. If you want to go somewhere with more space, for just a little bit more money, but extremely high quality and great maintenance and terrific staff and an indoor pool with 24 hour access, go up the street to Autumn Run. It's owned by Aimco, just like Country lakes, but it's half the size, so they keep it well maintained and the staff cater to you every need. We've been living here about five months and are so pleased. If you call with a silly worry about a spot in your carpet, the staff is asking you when you'd like to have cleaners out, or if you want the head of maintenance coming to check on it for you. Emergency maintenance at night is actually quickly taken care of - we were locked out of our apartment and called and within 10 minutes someone was there to let us in. HIGHLY recommend.
