Mixed Feelings

I have mixed feelings about this place. Staff is nice, but they boast "legendary customer service", and I didn't feel like they treated me that way. Many times when I've contacted them about something and never heard anything when they were supposed to get back to me. Sometimes they appear to care more about things like scuff marks on walls than actual concerns of residents; they'll send a notice requesting residents keep bicycles outside on bike racks instead of in their apartments, which I was doing until my bike was vandalized. When I first moved here, I was told that there would be a fitness center- now remodeling has been done for awhile and I haven't heard anything about it either way. The location is excellent, and most of the neighbors are friendly, but there is some crime (mostly vandalism and theft) and lately I have seen alot of police patrolling the area regularly. The pool is great, but several times last year it was either overcrowded or closed. The apartments are large, and newly remodeled; however, they chose not to replace the closet doors, and just about everyone I know here (including myself) has had issues with them constantly getting stuck or coming off track. The walls and floors are thin; I could hear just about everything the neighbors were doing upstairs, including using the restroom! Heat is not included, and the apartments are very drafty-there are no storm windows, and you can feel the breeze coming through the cracks between the walls and air conditioning units. The gas, sewage, and water are due with the rent and rising gas costs cause drastic fluctuations in the amount due. I found out long after I moved in that the apartments don't even have meters-they just divide the total building's bill between residents depending on how many people live in each unit. The problem with that is there are several families that have more people living with them than they tell the management. There are lots of other apartments in Naperville that are just as nice (if not nicer), and cheaper just because they include heat!
