Good and bad, but seems to be declining

In general, I've been pleased with Railway. It's conveniently located near the train station, the apartments are spacious and clean, include a washer/dryer and dishwasher, noise hasn't been too bad, and I haven't had many problems with anything needing repairs and so forth. I've also not had many negative experiences with the staff, but admit there is a certain lack of good customer service. Having the exercise room, pool, and clubhouse is also a nice perk.
I have had some problems with the concierge service, though. When I first moved in, they used to call you to let you know a package was waiting at the office; they no longer do this. Given that UPS and FedEx often never call or leave notices, you may never know you received a package.
Also, one Christmas they had this TOTALLY STUPID policy where, if you didn't pick up your package within EXACTLY 48 HOURS of its receipt, they'd SEND IT BACK. All because they found that their storage closet would get too crowded that time of year... DUH! It's the holidays! I couldn't understand it, and I've lost packages becasue of it (sue me, I have a JOB, fer chrissakes). I mean, if they want to clear their closet out so bad, they've got keys to everyone's apartment; drop the freaking package off. What else do they have to do during weekdays'
Anyway, it's definitely true that the quality of the property has declined in recent years. As the rent has gone down, there's definitely been an increase in "riff-raff," as it were. The halls have gotten dirtier and smellier, and they don't seem to care much about garbage on the grounds. There's been an abandoned car battery sitting outside the dumpster near my building for months now. There have also been repairs to the building exterior that have been left undone for a long time now.
Oh, and in the winter, they are LOUSY at salting the walks and driveways. I'm amazed they haven't been sued (as far I know).
In all, I can't complain too much. The rent is reasonable for what you get, there's broadband 'Net service, and it's basically a nice place. Still, it's not what it once was, and it doesn't seem like things are getting better.
As for the management posting on here... Ladies, instead of sniping and attacking, why not thank people for their comments and see how you can address them'
