Railway Plaza just recently changed management teams. The first day that the new people took over I went into the office, and was not greeted for some time and when I was the gentleman was not friendly at all. He appears to have only been there at the beginning to help get them situated but he was not friendly or warm. I have spoken on the phone with the new manager and she seems friendly. I will say though my first impression of the new management has been a poor one.
These comments are based on the past 4 months we have lived here as a whole, so I hope the new management takes note of things that can be improved on.
I agree that the noise of the A/C Heater is extremely loud.
They have doggy bags outside for pet owners to pick up after their pets however they are often empty causing their to be pet waste around pet buildings.
The parking is extremely tight. I complained a few times to the previous staff and they would say they would go sticker/tow the cars parked illegally but they never did, as the cars would stay there all day and be there still when I returned. I take the train to Chicago everyday and see commuters who do not live at Railway park there day after day.
Moving into a common hallway apartment you should expect to see your neighbors, hear them, smell them etc. Until this week rarely heard/saw/smelled our neighbors which was a great surprise. Someone new must have moved in because the stench in the hallway is unbearable. Not only that but then our apartment started to smell horrible. I understand that people are entitled to cook how the choose but the smell is nauseating. I do not have a solution for this, as this is part of common hallway life, but want to note that this is something to strongly consider, when looking at other apartment communities in the area. Having lived in private entrance apartments I know that this helps with avoiding this issue.
When we moved into our apartment it was dirty. Make sure you make notes on your inspection sheet really good. The building could do with a good power wash as the siding is GROSS!
I am happy with the floor plan of our apartment. There is more to floor plan when choosing your home for the next 12 months. Please consider strongly before moving into a common hallway apartment there are certain things unavoidable and truly uncorrectable by management by living in a common hall apartment community.
