A perfectly good place to live

I have LOVED living here and feel I should address the issues that others have complained about.

Management: This seems to be the biggest one. They have cleaned house AGAIN and the people have always been courteous and helpful. Anytime I've needed things delivered, they are organized and always know where they are. They're always willing to check even if I'm not sure I got something and with no complaints. They sat down and talked with us about resigning our lease with no issues. They were honest and answered all of our questions. We overpaid this month for our rent and they immediately notified us of the error, even though it would have been to their advantage to keep quiet. We're always notified of issues in the building (repaving, tenant appreciation, etc). If we ever have questions we can go in and ask or call them and there is no problem.

Noise: The only thing I can hear in the apartment is people going up and down the stairs and slamming the door. I can't hear dogs even though we live in a dog building. The people down the hall from us walk their kid in the hallway and it shouts which is kind of annoying but rare. We can never hear TVs in the apartments in the hallway nor can I hear them in my apartment.

Uncleanliness: The staff vacuums the hallway at LEAST every other day if not every day. The grounds are well kept. The only exception is the pool which often has small leaves in it and no net to clean them out with. The clubhouse is clean as well as the bathrooms in it and the exercise room.

Smell: This is a personal thing. If you're really sensitive to smells, there's nothing anyone can do for you. But it takes 5 seconds to walk down a hallway so if it really bothers you hold your breath. I really just think it's a race issue. Some people find other smells offensive, such as how vegetarians find the smell of cooking meat nauseating. This is a personal preference and can be avoided.

"Ethnic Diversity": This is --------. The guy/girl that wrote this is just a racist. How do you think minorities feel when they're surrounded by people of a different race' The ------- that he/she finds offensive just spend time together, I really don't see how that affects anyone else's life. If you want a primarily white building, go somewhere else and leave everyone else alone.

Price: The place is expensive. The garage is only 100/month. Maybe they reduced it or gave us a discount, I don't know. But the building is new which ensures that your heating and cooling bills stay low. Our heat was AT MOST 51 a month. Our electric was even less. Water was about 13-15/month.

Apartment: It's great to have a washer/dryer unit in the apartment. The bar counter is pretty high, you probably won't be able to find stools that will let you eat at it but the living are is big enough for large overstuffed couches and a dining table. The kitchen has a lot of cabinets. The dishwasher is good, but loud. The stove and microwave are average but have no issues. There is a large utility closet and another one on the balcony which is great and very convenient. The bedroom is HUGE. The apartment has lots of windows so you get lots of light, but they're new so you don't lose a lot of heat/AC. The heat/AC is loud which sucks. The apartment is painted a very neutral color but not white and boring. The bedroom has a large walk in closet with more storage. The bathroom doesn't have any drawers, just doors under the sink. But it does have a large linen closet and a medicene chest with places to put stuff. The water pressure is GREAT. The tub is new. Overall, very new construction and great style.

Naperville is awesome and I'll be sad to see it go. However, I just got a job far away and I can't commute. I would definitely recommend living here.

OK, management had to clean house "again", you hear people in the stairs and slamming doors, the kid shouts in your hall, there's no net to clean the pool, you suggest we hold our breath in the hallway, the place is expensive, you can't sit at the counter, the dishwasher is loud, the A/C is loud (which sucks), there are no drawers in the bathroom, and despite all that, you LOVE it here and give it a rating of 5?! Sure you like it here, but all that stuff has to come off the rating somehow - it was worth your time to write about it.

I am surprised that this guy asks people to hold breath to avoid the smell.. Guess he does not understand that the cleanliness of the common areas in the apartment is the responsibility of the Apartment Management. The mere fact that the corridors smell bad indicts the management of being responsible, inspite of charging VERY VERY HIGH rents. Well, I am lucky I had finished my lease a couple of months, if not I would have to rue over the pain of Railway Plaza.

what he refers to is the food smells that seep out of the apartment into the hallway. Some people don't like it, but I don't consider it an indictment against management. It can't be prevented, although having better door seals might help reduce it. The common areas are very clean. Although the stairwells could use some touchup paint. The rents are high because the location is advantaged for the train. Thats market based rent. It probably should be a 4 star. I am going to right my review for my reasoning.
