I liked Prairie Lakes when I first moved here... then I had issues that the office staff needed to deal with and it all went downhill. They are terrible. If you express unhappiness, the common response is a shrug and "sorry we can't do anything". This construction is a prime example. It would've been nice to let residents know of the upcoming construction more than two weeks prior. If I had known, I wouldn't have EVER re-signed my lease. It's the worst. They promised that things would be done in a certain period of time and it keeps dragging ON and ON and ON. The pool got locked on a 85 degree day and was kept closed for the rest of the summer because the construction had started nearby. I have mexican construction workers screaming outside my windows, tying ropes to my door handles to steady their ladders, unwrapping a package sitting by my door, sleeping on my lawn during lunch, leaving loud generators outside my bedroom windows at 6am... ENOUGH already. And it seems as though these guys have been allowed to move in to the complex during the work, too! They BBQ in their garages and leave their vehicles parked in the middle of the street, walk around the other residences late at night drinking and smoking, they cat-call female residents... it's disgusting. And the office staff says they've done everything in their power to alleviate the residents (offering massages' offering a hospitality suite') I never heard of ANY of it. And to rub salt in the wound, they're offering HALF OFF RENT to new residents. Even a $50 discount to each current resident during the construction would have eased the frustration! I can't wait to move.
