NOTE: DO NOT RENT OR YOU WILL REGRET IT...After Village Green management took over everything went downhill

I lived in Grand Reserve quite some time. I moved out after Village Green took over. The apartment walls were so thin that you could actually hear your neighbor cough. you could hear their phone ring. In the summer the bedroom would get so hot and the light bill would triple. In the winter it was so cold, it felt like you were on the outside. The maintenance people solution was to close the downstairs vent to warm the upstairs. The fact of the matter is the heater is too small for the apartment. They are using the same heater in these units, they used in the smaller apartment. I lived in a one bedroom loft. The living room and dining area never got above 50 degrees during the winter. The supervisor of maintenance is a chronic lair who makes promises he doesn't keep and he knows nothing about fixing anything. The management especially the manager is one the most unethical person I ever met who lies for the enjoyment. She flirts with every male she encounters.
These apartments had problems since they were build, in fact, there was a class action suit file against the former owners for pipe bursting, apartment caving in on each other, and other serious structural problems. In fact, My last year there, my pipes burst and the maintenance supervisor, lying ------, told me there was no insulation in the walls. When I confronted the manager about the problem, of course ------ lied about saying it. One of the construction workers who help build the apartments told me that they rush and finished the apartments and if there was ever a tornado the apartment would bew blown away easily because they weren't bolt to the ground properly.
Anything ------ and the manager say, I would get in writing, they are chronic liar who would say anything to keep their jobs.

Ain't that the truth!! I am no longer because many of the same reasons. My feet would go numb standing on my kitchen floor because it was so cold. My heating bill was so high that that was a rent check in itself. I now live down the street from the complex but very often drive through. I try to warn the "newbies" that are driving around with those from the office looking at the apartments and YELLING "DONT DO IT". To anyone putting The Grand Reserve up for review as an option to live in... it can only be the biggest mistake of your LIFE!

Wow, it sounds like the two of you are exactly the type of people the new management wanted out...Anyone who can't put together a coherent sentence, claims they knew the construction workers who built the place (when they moved in at least 10 years AFTER it was built), and drives through a community yelling at people looking at apartments has serious issues. All I have to say, is thank GOD you two don't live here anymore.

I've lived here 5 years and have NEVER had an issue with the office, my neighbors and have never seen anyone driving around the complex yelling at new people inquiring.
I think people like making up things to make themselves feel better. Get a life!

I lived at Grand Reserve for 2 years and I have to agree with the negative coments that have been made above. At least things were managed a bit better when Lincoln Property owned the place. However, when Village Green took over it was complete chaos. I assure you the positive reviews you have read are from the staff at Grand Reserve. I have met 5 people including a person at my office that rented from Grand Resever and the people have left or in the process of leaving becasue they have become so frustrated with the problems they have had. The facts that have been presented are accurate and please note they {Grand Reserve) have not disputed those facts.
When I relocated to the area with my company the real estate agent assigned to help me look for housing warned me that Grand Reserve was previously known as Prairie Lakes and was able to produce evidence of legal proceedings taken against the property. I think out of all the issues the one that caused me the most concern was the fact this property had a problem with mold prior to the renovation. However the beauty of the property and the space still made me to risk health issues if the mold issue were to return.
The fact is that this property is the best property in the area in regards to space and layout. However Village Green's other proerty in Warrenville while a bit smaller is a far superior property and easier to navigate to and from. You will still have some of the frustartions as staff at this propery holds about the same IQ quotient as that of the Grand Reserve staff. My advice is that if you like the place and feel you must rent from either is to do your homework first and be sure to have the email address of senior management as well as a specific contact at the corporate office. I would advise emailing every request made for service requests so that you have documented proof. When local management screws up (as I am sure they will) you at least don't have to pull teeth to get something repaired.

Anonymous, your experiences are yours and my experiences are mines. If you're having a great time at Grand reserve then you should write a review and not critizes my review. You don't know what I've experienced and you made an A-- out of yourself when you critize others comments. Get a life!

This is ridiculous, through and through. I've lived here for five years -- from Lincoln ownership to Village Green (it was pretty seamless, BTW, and the new ownership even honored an upgrade promise made by the previous property manager before her departure) and everything is great. Anyone posting negative stuff on here obviously created a problem for themselves as I've discovered that you can be as silent or as rowdy a member of the community as you wish here.
