I have also moved from there and the same thing happened to me. But later I found out that Judy did not have anything to do with the security deposits. She only turned in paper work to main office and the head of maintenance there, the old man and the main office decided what the charges would be. she was being put in the middle of it all and being blamed and yet she was not allowed to change anything about charges. She did what the office told her to do. Maybe that is why they are moving her out and getting her away. What does she know that she is not sharing with anyone' So don't blame her. Blame the main office in chicago. they are the ones who decides what charges are subtracted from security deposit. Not Judy. Neither was Veronica or the others. They are all gone. Is it because they stood up for the clients and not for the main office and tried to get money back for tenants' I am willing to bet that is it. I know I am contacting a lawyer because after I moved out and have been living elsewhere renting and have been getting my interest on my deposit each year I asked about it and my place says it is the law. I don't think I ever got interest yearly and I was there for 5 years and never got interest. So I am looking for a lawyer now and will go ahead and do something. But don't blame the office women for that as they had no say whatsoever. That is why they are all gone now. Waterford Greens is going to pot so fast it is not funny. I have friends who live there who said they are moving as soon as their lease is up. Don't move to Waterford Greens unless you have money to burn.

Having worked in the main office, I can tell you that Judy did not stand up for the tenant and she was asked to leave for stealing money from the company. Also, Judy did have a say in what was charged b/c the main office would ask for the pictures of the apartments.

Yes, you should have received interest each year on your deposit and you probably did not recieve a dime from the main office. This was an oversight on many people. HOWEVER, I would recommend you NOT use Mark from depositlaw.com (he is an avid ambulance chaser who is trying to get more money in HIS pocket than in yours. If you want to take this up legally then go to a respectable lawyer and not one that went to a university where the owner of Waterford has major ties and decision making power.

His website is however, insightful in to the law. My recommendation is use his website for informational purposes ONLY and then contact the main office. Having caught this oversight I think you will find them willing to correct this problem themselves ( I know for a fact they have been working on this and sending checks out--I cut several checks personally). If they refuse to send a check then contact another lawyer. Don't use Mark, he mentioned to tenants that he is trying to get a class action lawsuit--which means more money for everyone--except he takes 40-60% off whatever they settle for.

He is a lawyer and not an altruistic person...he is only looking out for himself and not the tenants...and I am not a big fan of the main office. If I was would I write to tell you that they did not pay interest on security deposits--which is the law.

I just finished reading this and I am Judi. I was not let go for stealing. I was let go because i could not do the job due to the stroke. So I do demand an apology. I also did not have any say in what was charged as I never took the pictures, I never did the walk throughs, and it was the main office who decided what the charges were. You say you work at the main office and yet you say you are not a big fan of the main office. then you say don't use a lawyer who went to the same university that the owner has major ties? are you saying anything about the university? So I think you need to get your facts straight.

also would like to add that if I had been let go for stealing, why would they have offered me an apartment in their other complex that would have been easier on my budget and it would free up a townhouse at Waterford. That also did not make sense. They did offer me one as a token of my good work for them.
