Great Place To Live!

I've been a resident here at Waterford Greens for nearly two years. I first lived in the one bedroom, two-story apartment (townhome). These are the only one-bedroom townhomes around and are terrific for a single person or young couple! I recently moved to the two-bedroom townhome and couldn't be happier. The units are very well laid out, very spacious, and have more storage/closet space (2 walk-in closets in my master bedroom alone!) than any other units in the Naperville area. My laundry room is large enough to even use as a pantry as well. Tell me where else you can find clean, quiet, safe apartments/townhome complex with fireplaces, washer/dryer, walk-in closets, 1150sq ft, free water, and pay less than $1200 per month.

As other posters have noted, this is not a brand new complex. But, the office and maintenance staff work very hard to keep things running smoothly. They respond very quickly to any inquiry or problem I have.

Final note: My credit background was less than perfect (divorce caused recent bankruptcy), but the office worked with me and I had no problems moving in. This place has been perfect for me and I would highly recommend it to any single people or young couples.

I lived there for 5 years. Things had their ups and downs-as they do with all community living spots, but ALWAYS the rental office and maintenance crew did their best to be prompt, friendly and courteous. It was the first place I looked at when I started looking for a place to rent, and the search stopped right there. I threw my deposit down immediately, because I felt like I was home. My neighbors were always friendly, and the surroundings are conducive to family style/community living...and it's nice when you can go out and plant in the spring/summer, and chit-chat with neighbors walking their pets or out for a stroll with their kids. My credit was shakey, and the rental staff worked with me, and helped me get in and get started. And since purchasing a home, despite what this site says....my deposit was refunded to me, in full, less a very small nominal amount for cleaning the carpet after I left. If you want to find "home" and get all the amenities at an affordable price...this is the spot.

Regarding the original poster's statement, "Where else can you find a clean, quiet, safe apartment with fireplaces, W/D, free water, etc." I don't know but please tell me when you find that place. It isn't here! This complex is no longer safe. I have stopped taking late night walks. I lock my door everytime I leave, even if it's just to take a walk around the block. It's not clean because there's always garbage on the grounds surrounding the dumpster. It's not quiet because of the gang of youths that have taken the place over. Are they quick to fix problems INSIDE the individual units? Yes. Did they work with me to get me in here? Yes. But we're talking about our HOME. WE HAVE A RIGHT to feel safe and feel happy to be back at our sanctuary. That doesn't exist here. This is NOT the spot. The "amenities" are a joke. The owners don't give a rat's ass about the tenants - and it shows.

It is amazing how two people can look at the same thing with completely opposite perspectives. I dont see garbage lying around the dumpster "always". They are emptied 2-3 times a week...lol. I do feel safe. I see no "gangs" of youth (duh, this is Naperville, not Joliet). I take walks around the neighborhood almost nightly, and walk to NNHS to watch football games in the fall. If someone doesnt feel "safe" due to the "gangs" (that's a racist way of saying "I see a couple of non-white people around me and get scared"), then they should call the police immediately. Bottom line: Regardless of the the place you are interested in, do your homework. Drive by on a Friday or Saturday night; as well as during the day. See for yourself what the place looks like. Knock on doors and ask resident their opinion. I'll happily give you a tour of my place! Check out the pool, dumpster areas, parking lots, etc. Get out of your car and listen for loud music, etc. Walk around the neighborhood yourself. Dont rely solely on anyone else's opinion. Certainly not mine; and not those who would speak negatively about this, or any other apartment.
