I have been staying at Oak Park City Apartments for almost four months now. I have read the reviews on this site, and find many of the negative reviews quite undeserved, based on my experience.

I work out of the apartment most days, so I am in the building quite often.

The apartment managers are top-rate, very friendly and courteous. They have always taken care of any questions or issues that have arisen. Maintenance staff is also great. The few maintenance requests I have had have been handled very quickly, and with professionalism. The maintenance staff is also very friendly.

As to price, my apartment rent seems to be very much in-line with other similar facilities in the Downtown Oak Park area.
The apartments seemed a little expensive at first, based on where I was moving from, but research demonstrates that cost of living and cost of housing in the Oak Park area is higher than other areas in the country. The price of the apartments are what you would expect for the quality and location of the complex.

The rooms are very modern, spacious, and the kitchen has real granite counter-tops. A very nice touch.

Occasionally, I hear footsteps upstairs, but generally the apartment is quiet throughout the day. I have never had any real noise issue.

The parking garage is heated and underground. The spaces are a bit narrow, but that is pretty status quo for the area.

The apartment also has a fitness center with very decent equipment and flat screen TV. The business center includes comfortable furniture, a TV, Internet connected computers, and a printer/scanner/fax machine.

The location is awesome. Right in downtown Oak Park. Less than a block from the CTA Oak Park Green Line Station, a few blocks from the Oak Park Metra station, and easy access to anything downtown. This includes: a movie theater, Fitness clubs, many clubs and restaurants, pharmacies, a popcorn vendor, grocery stores, and several parking ramps, all within less than 15 minute walking distance.

With as much time as I spend in the apartment, I am very glad I chose Oak Park City Apartments, and recommend anybody else looking to move to the area to check them out.
