THis place is nice if you are going for only one year lease. Every year they will raise your rent about 8% and they have little regard for keeping you here. There aim is to attract new residents to put up application fee and non refundable deposit. Often security lights are out till many people complain. They spend all their landscape effort only on the front entrance while your apratment will be surrounded with weeds and muddy places where green lawn is supposed to be. Pool is never heated and exercise room has aging equipment. THere is NO SECURITY here whatsoever and if you have a problem with a neihgbor they will tell you to contact police , they will never get involved or kick anyone out.

I've lived next door to the person who wrote this review for 3 years. Although I respect his right to have an opinion I don't agree in any way with his assessment. He tends to complain chronically about things that are not really an issue and tends to be needlessly picky and critical. He had been treated very well and fairly by the office and management does not deserve his criticism! This apartment complex is the best managed, cleanest, safest, and quietest out of the 3 complexes (The Gables/Alara Summerfield Aurora & Alara Glenmuir Naperville) I lived in the past 7 years! And if you take time to check the ratings of the other complexes in the area you'll find NONE compare to Farmington Lakes.
