In defense of the staff, they are stuck working for Sandy (the manager) and have no power to make any decisions regarding anything.
My suggestion to all of you is to call corporate. You can get the number from the office staff (be sure to ask a leasing agent, not Sandy) or from the web site: www.equityresidential.com
It is illegal for any of the office members, including the manager, to refuse to give you the phone number to corporate (Sandy will try to get out of giving it to you though).
But the staff cannot do anything to help you because they are not allowed to and if you complain to Sandy it will get you nowhere. It is unfortunate that the only way to get things done is by calling corporate.
I am a former resident and loved the size of the apartment, but it was not worth all the problems that came along with it.
I understand that complaining on this web site is an easy way to vent your frustrations, but if you really want to do something about it, I suggest you call corporate. So many people do not realize they actually can do something about it. The more people that keep calling to complain, the more likely it is that there will be improvements. When corporate gets only a few calls, they think it is just a few disgruntled people who did not pay their rent and are upset because they are being charged late charges. When people like that call, corporate does not take them seriously since in that situation, it was the resident who was wrong. But if more people call with legitimate complaints, corporate will start to see that there is a problem with the management. I know most people do not want to take the time and that it is wrong that you should have to, but I highly recommend it if you would like to see improvements.

Although Sandy is a unhelpful person and doesn't return calls she is not the only reason to rent elsewhere. There is dog poop everywhere, TV Maxx cable which is always out of service, and so many issues with the apartment. If you want someone to have to come in your apartment on a daily basis for service, dog poop on your shoes and terrible service by the manager and tv maxx then rent at Bourbon square. Otherwise BUY A HOUSE OR CONDO!! It's the same price anyway!!
