I DO NOT know what all the fussing and whining is about Bourbon Square!! So please people....JUST STOP!! It's a great place to live!! Give the new management a chance!!! They are the best staff I have seen in a long time! I live here and I am signing ANOTHER lease!! I am sure all the readers have noticed the "intentional" hatred others have written, it's all UNTRUE and that is because they are the ones with the problems...NOT BOURBON SQUARE!! Unhappy people will stand out in a complex of 600 units. The new manager Michelle is awsome....Dee and Marie are sweathearts too!! Maintenance is great!! So tell me...what's really going on with all u gripe-aholics!! Thank you to the staff of Bourbon Square for making my life better and giving me a nice place to live in!! It's awsome!! So are you guys!!! Keep up the good work!

Wow, for somebody who allegedly lives here, you sure have several names memorized from the office. You sure you aren't one of them? The buildings are falling down, maintenance doesn't exist, (but if you unit is so great, you wouldn't know that, would you, despite the compliment you give them) and they are going condo. What part of that don't you get? I've lived here alot longer than you. Give it time, you will hate the place too. Get out while you can. However, you obviously work for Marquette, and anyone with half a brain can see that from your post.

You know, I work for Marquette and just received the call from the resident that wrote this. IF you are so unhappy with our community please take the time to come into our office and express your concerns... we're happy to help. I have noticed that many residents that complain never give us an opportunity to correct any conditions that may be unacceptable for them. As far as residents knowing our names... believe it or not many residents come in and talk to us DAILY! So instead of being anonymous come in and talk to us! We are always willing to listen and do what we can to assist residents with any issues that is within our power to correct. And you may ask for me personally, my name is Dee.

Well, I guess coming into the office is the only option, since it takes about 5-6 tries on the phone number to actually get a human. Try it sometime, folks. 847-358-8888. You will get a voicemail most of the time, even during busness hours. Then, when you have a maint. concern, nothing happens. So you wait a few days, leave another voicemail, and again, nothing. 6 times now, a voicemail results in nothing, and 6 times, the excuse is that "the computer was down that day" Whatever. Equity did a much better job than this. It only took 3-4 calls to get anything fixed. And fixing things will definately be needed if you attempt to live here. However, since the place is going condo, alot of this makes sense now. If you are in "Phase 1 Renovation" area, you are SOL. They won't give you the time of day, let alone respond to you. Michelle never ever calls back, regardless of your concern. (I've left 7 messages for her, none were ever returned) Here's the deal: Dee claims that: "I have noticed that many residents that complain never give us an opportunity to correct any conditions that may be unacceptable for them." This is bunk. I have given them time and time again to address my concerns, and literally nothing was ever done. Nothing. Keep in mind that Dee, Michelle, etc. have only been around since March, give or take. Pretty short period of time to address the many concerns I have, but again, Nothing. The new owners paid 72mil for the place, have 20mil cash reserves to fix up the place, and are going condo. We have internet, you know. This is public knowledge for those willing to find it. Real Estate transactions are posted by press releases, law firm PDF documents, etc. It's no big secret, so why does the staff refuse to acknowledge this? Oh, I know, don't want to alarm anyone, and make rentership, however short term suffer, huh? Anyway, I'm done. Kicked out for condo conversion, so yes, I'm bitter. We spent a little shy of $80,000 living here, and got treated like crap. Go figure.

From what I have heard no one is going to be kicked out. I have been told there will always be oportunities to rent. Your unit could be bought by an investor and you could rent from them, or you can move to another apartment. I think the staff is being given a bad rap. Maybe they can't say anything? Legal stuff probably?

Regarding getting kicked out... Back in november some friends who live in the phase one section were notified that they would have move out due to their unit being sold! We were told that we would be notified and kept in communication should a bid come in on our unit. Our friends received no such communication. To top matter off, they were given a mere 2 weeks to vacate! They are good residents, pay their bills, no trouble etc... Yet when they requested to see another unit in a different section, they were originally told that they would not renew their lease with the complex. They mentioned that they were going to run matters past their attorney to see what other options they would have, at which point they were promptly offered a unit on the other side of the complex. The staff is indeed being given a bad rap, only because they deserve it. We have personally found them shifty and rude at all times. A few staff memebers are "nice" but sometimes professionalism is far more valuable. A trait lacking at Bourbon Square. Don't even get me started on their nitwit accountant!
