Before Marquette took over Bourbon I worked in the office, reading this I do agree with what the residents have to say. Of course there are good and bad things about apartment living. For the Palatine area I do believe that these are the nicest apartments in the area, and I loved my job leasing them!! I would be careful with the new contracts because they have a kick out clause which means that they only need to give you a 30 day notice and out you GO! The pet clean up at Bourbon is an issue, heat and air conditoning and the super old appliances too! The maintenance staff does their best, they have a lot of work. If there are 612 apartments to take care of, landscaping, new apartments to turn and more how do you expect them to JUMP when you call. I believe that the leasing staff prior was caring, dedicated and great(partially because I worked very hard there). I don't know if it is true, I called for a map a week ago and It took four calls to get one faxed to me!! Good Luck to everyone who rents and I hope that you have a great experience!!

as a matter of fact, I DO EXPECT THEM TO JUMP WHEN I CALL! I pay good money to live there and I have expectations that I should have my maintenance issues dealt with promtly and with competance! If they are too busy, than they need more help. That's simple! Maybe you were one person who took your job seriously and if you were I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks. But the previous staff in general was the pits. this staff is no better. It is my experience that generally leasing offices dont hire the most educated, intellegent and commited employees. Lets face it any idiot could do this job with only a high school education. I'm sure you were the exception.

you know, you are one rude A-Hole. I am the leasing manager of a large community in Ohio and I take offence to your comment that "any idiot could do this job". We have to deal with jerks like you every day and I could sure tell you some stories about what it's like seeing how the general public live and you call us idiots?!? I am so sick of hearing "well I pay good money" eveytime one of you crybabys doesn't get your way. Most of you have no clue what it is like or what it takes to run a large community. I think you and everyone else who expects their apartment staff to wipe their butts for them should get over yourselves. In my experiance, the people who gripe and moan like you are usually just piss-ant nobodys that pick on others to make themselves feel more important.

I think that it is easy to see the negative in everything. I notice that Bourbon Square is trying to have more resident activities. It is very hard to look at these postings while being employeed in property management and think that no one can see how hard I work to keep the property running smooth. Of course, there are times when a work order may get misplaced, or residents and management don't see eye to eye. But, it is sad to me that the majority of people can only see the bad and not how hard working and competent all employees are.
