This is to alert anyone interested in buying a condo or renting same at Brentwood
of Palatine that it would be a mistake.I've been here only a matter of 4 months, and I
cannot wait for my lease to expire so I can get out.

The first of many problems were the neighbors I had in the apartment next to mine.
There was a daily scream fest ( along with the sound of children being beaten )that
often spilled out into the hallway.Numerous calls to the absolutely useless management
company and police were no help.I later learned from the condo association president
that they'd been trying to get rid of these animals for over 8 months without success.
They have been finally removed , but not before vandalizing the common areas and making
personal threats to me.There are also a good number of gang bangers in the complex,
who often are out making noise and leaving beer bottles on the grounds.The pet policy
goes largely ignored , as does the maintenance of the hallways.(There has been a
loose handrail on the stairs from the day I moved in).

I came home one day to find that the roof was leaking , and that it was raining
in my apartment. I immediately called Useless Management and was unable to speak
to the person in charge of this property.I left a voice mail , and the leak continued.After several more attempts to reach this person (my calls were never
returned),I finally spoke to her and was informed that there was nothing their
roofing company could do until the snow was gone.Apparently they were not familiar with the great advances in shovel technology.Having once worked as a roofer,I know it
is possible to at least patch the leak until a permanent repair can be made.
As a result of this , I missed several days of work in order to keep emptying the
containers that were filling up at a rate of 5 gallons over 2 or 3 hours time.
I cut out the drywall on the ceiling so that it would not collapse on my head and
ruin the carpet.The leak seems to have stopped (after 4 weeks!) , but I still
have 10' X 4' hole in my ceiling along with the mold that goes along with water damage. The association has said that they will repair it , but I'm not holding my breath.

In closing,if you are a miscreant with little respect for yourself or others,this
is the place for you.A great deal of patience is also a fine quality to have if
you you're considering a move here.
