Major Issues!

I recently moved out of Clover Ridge after living there for a year and three months. My lease was up and I didn't want to renew for a couple of reasons.

First, there were mice in my apartment building which were getting into my apartment. I lived on the third floor which lead me to believe that the mice were in the walls of the building. At first, the only thing that maintenace did to alleviate the problem was come put traps down. This obviously did nothing to get rid of them and then I had to deal with the problem of dead mice in the traps (which happened on three separate occasions). At one point, since maintenace was not doing anything else to take care of the problem I had to go out and purchase sonic repellers at my own expense. After continuing to find evidence of mice (i.e. droppings and hearing scratching noises in the walls), maintenance finally came into my unit and sealed off the outside holes. This took numerous phone calls to the leasing agents, property manager, and regional manager.

Second, my friend's car was recently broken into while parked in the parking lot overnight. The window on the driver's side was broken and the stereo was stolen. After this incident, I became concerned with my own safety in the neighborhood.

On the other hand, I did enjoy the fitness center located on-site as well as the pool. My neighbors were friendly and considerate of our surroundings living in a shared apartment complex.

Overall, my experience was not great due to the rodent infestation and safety issues. I would not recommend this complex to someone. I would have gladly spent a few extra bucks and lived somewhere clean and safe! BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

Wow...I just moved into Clover Ridge and now I'm nervous. I hope I don't have the same experiences you had. I have to agree however, I am concerned about my safety as well. Groups of people hanging out in the parking lot for hours makes me nervous. And my first day there, my neightbor had my car towed because I was blocking their spot while I was carrying boxes up to the 3rd floor. But other than that...I like it. I guess time will only tell. Thanks for the info!

Truth is....you could live in a million dollar home and still get mice. You can live in the best neighborhood and still have your car broken into. The things you mentioned are things that happen everywhere. Cars are getting broken into left and right for GPS systems. Everywhere! I wouldn't call those 2 items reasons to not recommend a place. I do not live at Clover ridge, nor do I work there. Just saw this posting and felt the need to reply.

I have to disagree... I understand that you can get mice living anywhere but my problem was with the way management handled the situation by not doing anything to get rid of them. If you are an unsanitary person and don't mind living with mice that carry all kinds of diseases than Clover Ridge would be the place for you. Furthermore, regarding the security of the complex, living by myself I was very aware of my surroundings and any potentially dangerous situations that could arise. When your personal property is stolen that causes a major concern for your safety and wellbeing. When it comes down to it, there are plenty of other apartment complexes in the northwest suburbs that I would gladly recommend versus Clover Ridge.

The building that I live had mice. Every person that moved in on my floor complained of it. Each one that complained of the mice eventually moved. I personally never had a problem with mice. However, the rent here is such that one should not have to pay to live with mice. You can move across the street, pay considerably less rent and live with mice. Why pay for a luxury apartment and live with mice?
