Absolutely Terrible

Years at this apartment: 2000-01-01 - 2001-01-01
I had problems from day 1 (May 2000). When I went to pick up the keys, they were still cleaning the apartment. The carpets were wet from "cleaning" for 4 days after I moved in. There were serious maintenance problems including a rotted out vanity and a gap under the front door large enough to fit a cat. Insulation seemed to be non-existant, though the reason for that became evident later. Although the carpets seemed clean, none of the rest of the apartment was. Had I been the owner, I would have been ashamed to give it to a new tenant in that condition.
In November 2000, serious water leaks developed in one window and the ceiling. (This was a first floor apartment!) Fixes were promised and never delivered. In December 2000 leaks once again formed, flooding the living room. Maintenance did not consider this an emergency even though water was visible through the carpet. Water damage was evident through the unit in the carpet and the drywall. Had the complex manager tour my unit, fixes were again promised and not delivered. Later that week, the management agreed to terminate my lease (at my request) due to the uninhabitable conditions.
