Lets be honest, the past reviews (except the snow shoveling one) were from the Gates of Deer Grove employees. Granted tehy have to overcome the previous horrible review aimed at Manchester Oaks, but they were a little too zealous of reviews for anyplace other than a swanky upscale chicago flat.

Brick interior walls are great. They look classy and everyone is envious of them. Heating is good, AC is good (they installed 'new' ones at the end of the season, but they actually were identical to the previous one, but with a remote) floor plans, carpet, appliances, every thing is good. Except they are so close to being great that you can't help but want to push them to be great.

Monthly updates about the construction would be amazing, just something to say hey this is where we are at and heres where we hope to be next month (Its ok that the construction isn't done, between villages that dig their heals in anytime someone mentions change and construction teams being stereotypically late no worries). It's just nice to know whats going on and why things are the way that they are.

Heads up about major changes are also really appreciated. We lost a big tree that was in front of our window that we liked, it was really sad and we didn't know it was going till one day we woke up and it was gone.

Also I know a few people with dogs that mentioned they would happy to maybe pay a little extra a month to get the doggie stations where extra bags and a trash can to clean up after them. Its really is just the inconvenience of picking up the poo and walking halfway across the place to dispose of it that stops people from cleaning up after fido. We're lazy and we will pay extra to stay lazy.

Again all this stuff is the icing on the cake.
