I have been a resident of The Gates of Deer Grove for over 12 months. Management tries to address the many maintenance things you will need over the course of the rental and then the happy attention tapers off. The radiant heating thermostat is not accurate or consistent and constantly makes LOUD noises as gas pockets develop in this very antiquated system. Also neighbors that have dogs here tend to rule. The can bark all morning and night and there isn't much management does about it. I first checked into the apartment and reported a crack in the microwave door and was surprised that management wasn't required to replace it. They simply removed it and I wasn't getting one to replace it like when you toured through it and signed the lease knowing the installed appliances were part of said lease. Smoke alarms constantly set off during cooking (not a bad cook here). Garbage disposal caused several kitchen floodings and was also not remedied. The apartment Dishwasher hasn't worked since I've arrived and management "knows about it." Parking is crowded for late nighters. Snow removal was terrible, usually your were plowed into your space. Management has since fired and hired a better company. The apartment's brick features are nice as is the clubhouse. Great location and great natural forest nearby to run/bike/hike. The staff is professional and attentive but have many rules as not to replace/resolve most issues; corporate Lamar thing. Water pressure issue was resolved. Decent fitness center. Rehab was heavy into the new clubhouse rather than other glaring issues. Filthy dirty radiant heat exchanges beautifully painted over. Washer & Dryer units area is usually dirty and makes your clothes smell, as well as overcharges you. Avoid this property entirely if possible!!!!!
