After reading these reviews, and noticing that the negative reviews outnumber the positive ones by about twice as much, I have to agree that this place isn't worth it. The only positives are the in unit washer and dryer. The construction is terrible. My building sounded like it was going to fall apart during high winds. These buildings are more than 20 years old. Condos that old do not appreciate in value unless the area is desirable to potential homeowners (think Evanston, Wicker Park). One look around tells you that this part of Palatine is not going to be desirable at any time in the near future. Despite claims to the contrary, this is not a safe neighborhood. Also, it is ugly. As the saying goes, "You can't polish a turd." Some of the units are "overhauled" as part of purchasing. Making the doors and trim white on the inside doesn't take away from the poor construction, lack of storage space, lack of patio or balcony, strip malls and gas stations surrounding the area, traffic problems and lackluster groundskeeping. After a long winter in Chicago, I want a place where I can sit outside and enjoy the weather, or have a cookout. Almost all of the apartments around have balconies or patios, except this place. The idea of buying an apartment that is falling apart, with no outside living space, is scary at best. I do not recommend it.
