From day one, my girlfriend and I have had problems with anything and everything you could ever possibly fit into one of these apartments. Our first problem was the shower. It was nice to take a shower and then find out that the hot water only lasts for about 3 minutes and then you get a nice freezing cold shower which everyone just loves in the dead of winter. Then there was the toilet which had been jury rigged several times before and the reason I know this is because the floor had been raised and lowered in different spots from inserting new wood because the old wood had rotted out. The toilet still doesnt flush all the time and you have to hold down the handle for 5 seconds before you can leave the room. That is considerably better than before though when the toilet spewed out water all over the floor. The "maintence crew" if you can even call them that are better at making excuses than fixing anything. You can tell these clowns get paid by the hour because we pratically had to ask our maintence man for half of the month's rent since he was there everyday. We decided to stop calling him because everyday we found something new to fix. At first I just thought: "Wow, we just got the runt of the litter. This must be the worst apartment here." I was wrong. Other tenants I had spoke with gave us the same feedback and same complaints. They had the same problems as us, and I wish I could say the bathroom was all that was messed up. Lets go room by room and list what is wrong: Kitchen, the cabinets were put together by Jesus, because they are about 2000 years old. They are off line and crooked and the cabinets below the sink are warped from previous water damage. The piping in the kitchen and bathroom shakes and rattles if you ever touch it because someone decided to put it together with the effort of a corpse. The bedroom is nice that is if you get one without "roommates". The roommates we had were called, "Water Bugs", the resident bug guy told us. We were comforted to know that these bugs that look exactly like roaches are not roaches and that they only come in our house when it rains. Lucky us, we live in Illinois and IT NEVER RAINS HERE! Everything that was made here was put together with zero craftsmanship. Seriously no joking here when I say that you could hire a group of bums standing outside of the salvation army that could've put together a classier more livable atmosphere than this place. The water bugs, beatles, ants and other insects we've encountered so far have all been before SPRING! So we havent' even got to see the full spectrum of summer living in this place yet. If you do not have a problem with any of this stuff so far than maybe this will bother you. OTHER TENANTS. We had to call the cops more than a dozen times on our neighbors who were eventually evicted months later after many complaints prior to our own. The management staff and ownership here is so quick to do stuff that your lease will be up before one of your complaints even gets addressed. I honestly wouldn't suggest this place to my worst enemy. There is no words invented or created yet that could accurately describe the amount of suffering that one would endure by setting foot into one of these apartments. I find it funny even now thinking that we were told our studio loft apartment would be one of the BEST apartments here. The others must be on fire half the time or under water because I don't see how it could get much worse. Also, if you do have any possessions that you value don't put them in front of the windows because water spews in everytime it rains but you'll get use to it eventually. We are yet to get ours fixed. The new owner GHANTOUS really wants to turn this place around though. That's why if you call him for any help he will avoid you like you have the black plague. Your best bet is to find another apartment or move back with your parents or find a big brown box because all of these would be better options than living here. WE WERE FOOLISH AND READ THESE REVIEWS AND WE STILLED MOVED HERE THINKING MAYBE PEOPLE WERE JUST OVERREACTING, BUT THEY WERENT! EVERYONE WHO MOVES HERE TURNS INTO BITTER PIECES OF MISERABLE SCUM THAT VALUE NOTHING IN LIFE BUT COMPLAINING.

I believe the comments may have been motivated by previous employees. We recently purchased the complex and have undergone an entire change of staff. I agree that the previous staff was lazy and perhaps disfunctional. We attempted to work with them to no avail.
Shortly after we took possession of the complex, we evicted problem tenants and have replaced them with quality tenants. We began immediate fixes in those needed areas. We increased our staff multifold, an d began renovations. Stop by the see the dramatic difference. We are committed to providing the best service available, bar none. I am convinced you will agree that Haymeadow provides the best in community living.
