I currently live at Prairie Lakes Apartments. I pretty much searched all over the Peoria Area, looking at several apartment complexes. I then found Prairie Lakes. I will agree that the rent is a bit steap, but you have to conside what all you get with that... a lake view, very large apartments (mine is 1140sq. ft, which is HUGE for an apartment in Peoria), a secure area (I am a female that lives on my own, and have never felt scared to go home or outside at night), washer and dryers in every apartment, FREE water, FREE trash removal, FREE heat. These are the best you are going to find in the area, I don't care what anyone says . . . they won't be trashed like most other apartments, and your neighbors are safe (they do background checks). Though the rent is a bit high, it seems like they are making an effort to put money back into the complex. The grass is always mowed and they are constantly planting new trees and putting mulch around existing ones, the lake isn't all mossy. As far as the office staff - we all have our bad days, I will admit I have had times where I've went into the office, and they weren't the greatest to me, but for the most part they've been helpful and considerate. I would highly recommend the apartments!
